20 months!

Rebecca uses lots of words. Some of these words have a starting consonant, a vowel, and even an ending consonant. Michelle uses fewer words, but I suspect that she understands more of them.

We've replaced the sides of the girls' cribs with lower barriers with a hole in them, so that they can actually get in and out of bed when they want to, instead of trying to climb over the side. Michelle seems to prefer sleeping on the floor near the door, and occasionally thumps the door trying to get out. But the great thing is that the girls don't scream in the morning; they get out of bed and play with each other and toys until I get them at around 7am.

Last week, I came into their room a bit early. Rebecca was sitting in Michelle's crib. Michelle was still asleep. Rebecca looked at me, touched a finger to her lips, and said, "Shh".

Then she proceeded to reach over and shake her sister. I moved Rebecca out of the way of the still-oblivious Michelle, and explained to her that it was better not to touch or shake sleeping people.

I just ordered new normal use china for the house. We're going to have matching china to eat on, instead of a combination of all the various random stuff we had before building a household together. It's very odd...
