"Jungsu."

At the sound of his name, the older, brown haired boy snapped his gaze to his younger friend. Park Jungsu wasn't really a "friend", more like.. an assistant.

There was something wrong with Kim Kibum. Nobody could figure out what it was, even the hundreds of doctor's he'd seen were stumped. He was paler than an average asian, but he wasn't weak and he wasn't bedridden. He was normal, only confined to his overly large house.

Jungsu stayed silent, waiting for Kibum to speak. After all, Kibum called his name, so he must have had something on his mind.

"What..." Kibum stopped, glancing at his older friend. "Why are you so happy?"

"I'm in love, Kibummie~" Junsu sang out, with a cheesy smile and happy, flushed cheeks. Kibum blinked slowly before touching his own cheeks.

Cold and pale.

"How do you know?" Kibum asked, face indicating that it was a genuinely serious question.

Junsu sat on a metal box full of Kibum's belongings and set his elbow on the desk. The yougner boy blinked at the older, and he watched Jungsu's mouth crack into a happy smile.

"Well, your heart beats fast when you're around them, or hear their voice, and your palms get sweaty... your cheeks flush and you always want happiness. For them and you."

"Jungsu." Kibum blinked at the older's behavior. His palms were sweaty, he was full of happiness, and his cheeks were blushed. "You're in love with me?"

"No! What?! No, Mina! Not you!" Jungsu hid his face, cheeks burning in red hot embarrassment.

Mina? Kibum never heard that name before. It sounded foreign. By the look on Jungsu's face, he didn't seem to care what race she was.

"Want to meet her?"

Kibum blinked as Jungsu stood, grabbing some keys from his back pocket. With a straight face, Kibum stared as Jungsu turned to him. He then shook his head.

"I can't go out, remember?"

Jungsu chuckled, before leaving Kibum's room with a joyous shout. "I'll be outside waiting, but not for long! Only a couple minutes!"

Then silence.

Kibum thought about it for a second.. He could either go outside and risk getting sick(er?) or stay inside miserable, like every day.

Kibum grabbed a coat.

---

He stood in a small, slightly busy cafe, happy yells of "Mina!" and "Jungsu!" being exhanged between the two lovers.

Kibum was frozen, not sure what to do. He hadn't been out in who knows how long, and he didn't know how to react to the noise and such. People around him laughed and kissing, the atmosphere of the whole place making him feeling just a little bit happier. He glanced at "Mina" and Jungsu holding hands, chatting happily, exchanging small kisses and even smaller secrets.

He turned around to go order something to eat, feeling a bit hungry.

But instead of him going to get the food, the food came to him.

He was laying on the ground, a mix of American and Korean food on his shirt, his legs on top of some girl.. the girl who ran into him. She was small, and korean, unlike Jungsu's girlfriend. Her long black hair was sprawled out on the ground, her blue uniform was now covered with soda. Sighing, she got up, and she looked him in the eye, her black eyes glimmering with disappointment.

"I'm really sorry sir, I didn't mean to run into you. Please forgive me." She bowed to him repeatedly, over and over until he stopped her.

"It's fine."

"Oh god, Alex, are you okay?" "Mina" ran over, helping her friend up frmo the ground. They chatted in English, probably Mina's mother language, and Jungsu just stood, watching the events take place. Kibum stood up, brushing food from his clothes. Jungsu checked Kibum, making sure he wasn't getting sick.

Kibum was sick of it.

Brushing Jungsu's hand away, Kibum frowned. He wasn't a baby, he could handle himself.

The girl "Alex" turned back to him, with a lopsided smile.

"I'm sorry Mr.."

"Kibum." Kibum wasn't mad, and that was something.. new. Although he never showed his emotions, he would get mad or sad on the inside. But.. he wasn't mad. Even after this girl just rammed into him and ruined his clothes, he was calm.

Alex handed Kibum some napkins and he wiped his clothes off. He then bent down, picking up some food from the ground, helping to clean the place up.

He didn't notice before but everyone in the cafe was looking at them.

It was weird.

"Let's.. go get you cleaned up."

Kibum was a gentleman, even covered in food. Taking Alex's hand, he led her to the back wash room (well.. where she told him it was anyways.) and he closed his eyes as she changed into a new uniform. When she finished, he watched her clean her hair and body, washing his own after she was clean.

"So.. you're Alex."

She nodded and tried to hide the light blush on her cheeks.

"I am. Yes."

Kibum didn't know what to say after that.. so there was silence. She bobbed her head up and down, waiting for something to be said. But Kibum didn't say anything.. he just dried himself off, and waved goodbye to her.

Alex thought she had seen the last of Kibum forever.

That was until Jungsu came in a couple days later, a solemn face on. (Though he cheered up slightly with a couple of Mina's kisses.)

"What's wrong?" Alex asked, and Jungsu sighed.

"Kibum really didn't have a good time out, you know."

Alex felt guilt at her heart.

She really was sorry, and she couldn't say that enough.

"He's not aloud out anymore. Well.. he wasn't before.. but.."

Alex felt even worse.

"I need to go apologize."

Jungsu nodded and he and Alex left. To go apologize to the poor, kept-in boy.

They reached Kibum's house with excited chatting about JungNa and Kibum's life, and everything else they could think of. Jungsu excused himself when they reached Kibum's balcony door and he ran into the house. A few minutes later, Kibum opened his balcony doors, leaning on the rails to look down at Alex.

She played with her hands nervously.

"I heard you were locked up."

Kibum nodded, hand running through his jet black hair.

"I always was."

"I heard."

Alex then enjoyed the silence, looking down at her feet. That was before, Kibum called her na,e.

"Alex. Hey."

She snapped out of her trance and nodded, looking up at Kibum.

"Make it up to me."

She blinked in surprise, feeling her guilt start to go away.

"How?"

"Let me take you on a date."

Alex happily agreed.

---

"Lotte World?"

Alex blinked at Kibum, who just blinked back at her. He took his hands out of his pockets and paid for both himself and Alex, before leading her into the theme park.

They rode everything, and she took a picture of the raccoon castle for her friend, Kangin.

They eventually ate unheathily, and Kibum didn't seem to mind.

As it got colder, the hairs on Alex's arms stoof up and she rubbed her arms to keep warm. Kibum noticed and took off his long jacket, putting it over her shoulders. She looked up at him and tilted her head, giving him a quiet thank you.

There wasn't many words exchanged between the two, mostly just talking from one side. Alex didn't mind though, because he was a very good listener.

"Won't you get sick too?"

"I won't, I promise."

Alex nodded, looking up at the night sky. It really was pretty, and she enjoyed the night skyline.

"Alex."

Alex fixed her gaze and looked Kibum in the eyes as he came down and kissed her softly. She froze, even as he pulled away.

"Thank you."

Alex had no idea what he was talking about.

"For coming with me. Maybe we can do it again. Let me see your phone."

Alex took out her phone with a dark blush, as he put in his number. He then text messaged himself so he'd have her number too.

Kibum grabbed her hand, thumb lightly tracing circles on her skin. She blushed again as they got in the car, and dropped her off. She felt like she was on a cloud, after he kissed her forehead and told her he'd call her later.

He never called.

Alex frowned, playing with Kibum's jacket that he left with her.. /that/ night.

She felt her heart wretch, hoping every day that he would walk through those cafe doors, with a slight smile and tell her how sorry he was.

He never did.

Sighing, she snapped out of her gaze long enough to walk out and serve another customer.

It was Jungsu.

"Mina's in the back." Alex spoke softly, motioning, but Jungsu shook his head.

"I came here to.. tell you something."

"I don't want pity." She spoke, turning to walk away to go.. do something.

"Kibum wants to see you."

That made Alex pause. She turned around slowly, nose scrunched up in anger.

"You.. you tell Kibum that.. I don't want to see him."

She frowned and turned to walk away, but was stopped by someone grabbed her waist and lifting her over their shulder. Jungsu was sure stronger than he looked. He walked out of the store, Alex kicking and screaming all the way to their destination.

After a while of fighting, Alex felt Jungsu stop and set her down. She kicked his shin, with a frown.

"That's better."

"Turn around."

Alex turned around slowly.. her eyes widening at the hangul written on the sign.

병원. Hospital.

Jungsu pushed her inside lightly, before whispering some number to him.

313. 313. Third floor, thirteenth room. She ran up the stairs, as fast as she could go before reaching the thirteenth room. She stopped. What if he was really sick? Dying? Dead?

Slowly opening the door, she saw the curtain drawn around the bed, so she slowly.. slowly.. walked over to it.. and opened it.

There was..

Nothing there. Her eyes widened and she began to panic, tears forming in her eyes.

"Oh god, he's dead, and he's not here and I'll never get to tell him I like him." She spoke rushed korean, tears coming down her face with small sobs.

"Never tell who?"

A figure appeared in front of her, blurry and..

It was Kibum.

Was she dreaming?

"Hey."

Nope, he was alive and..

She hugged him, wrapping her arms around his waist tightly.

"I thought you died!" She frowned, hitting his stomach. Kibum flinched slightly but chuckled.

"I'm fine."

"You got sick! You /were/ sick!"

"Well.. I got better. I'm never going to be sick again."

Alex looked up in disbelief at him. Never sick again, whatever. He was a liar.

"I'm trying to be sentimental here."

Alex nodded and hugged Kibum tighter, feeling his hands thread in her hair. She looked up at him and stood on her tip toes, and he leaned foreward and.. their lips touched each others lightly. Only those two existed right now, and the moment was perfect.

Kibum pulled away and Alex set her head on his chest as he held her.

One of his hands moved up to touch his cheek.. and he smiled. Then, he held Alex tighter.

Hot and flushed.

He finally knew what love was.
