Mod: Requests & Reccs

Dec 09, 2010 09:47

I swear this is the last one for today, lmfao

Sometimes the community is flooded with request for suggestions on what to read or asking for recommendations from a certain genre and/or rating. This just clogs everyone's F-lists with unwanted posts. Although a lot of people benefit from it and find fics to read that they hadn't before, it sometimes gets too much because of a lot of people ask for the same thing.

So this post will introduce a new idea to help keep out F-lists and community clean.

Since our community isn't really big enough to do this every month, I'd like to compile a list of your favorite fictions to post in one post every two months. Simply leave a comment in this post with the following information.

Title & Link:
Genre:
Rating:
Author:
Your comments: (Why are you recommending this fic? What do you love about it? Nothing longer than 30 words :|)

On the 26th of March poisonpickles will put the list together and post it with a new tag '!recc'.

Note for requesters: I hope this lessens the amount of times you ask members to put together a list of stories for you to read while you are 'away' for whatever reason since you can now simply just follow the '!recc' tag and see for yourself. Until this fully starts up, however, first please follow the '!request' tag and make sure someone has not already asked for what you are asking for. The exception to this would be if you are looking for a specific fic of which you only remember some details (but even then don't post until you have looked through the entries and made sure that no one has has looked for it already).

Comments will be screened, if you think the fic you want to recc has already been recc-ed, don't worry! You can still recc it! The more love a fic gets, the better!

You can post a comment anytime you like and however many times you like between now and 26th March :)

This will not also be to keep our community clean but will also show writers readers appreciation as there are a lot of writers overlooked.

mod!post, !recc
