Damn damn damn damn. I had been offered a two-week, pretty easy job for Parks and Rec. Measuring all the baseball diamonds at rec centers. I don't know why they needed them measured, but they did. It would have started June 7. I would have had trouble, because my pool job would be starting about a week and a half after that, and there would be time-overlap problems of various sorts. So I let him know, and I get an email back that makes it sound like they'll probably find somebody else to do the job. This was to my City of Saint Paul email account, that I don't check very often. I checked it again tonight to find that I had received a few emails related to the job. First one said that they were moving the timetable up a bit, and I should contact the guy in charge as soon as possible. Apparently this had been sent on Thursday morning. There was another email saying that the guy in charge had dropped off the measuring wheel that I need to use at a particular rec center, but he was still waiting on hearing from me. This was sent some time on Friday. So I quick dashed off an email, saying yes, I was still interested, I could start ASAP, which would probably be Tuesday, because of the holiday weekend. Or maybe it will be tomorrow, who knows what they want any more, they keep changing things around on me. I don't even know if they'll still let me do it, they may have grabbed somebody else, because I was too stupid to remember to check my city email account on a regular basis.
