(no subject)
The day before yesterday I walked downtown to see if I could find any computer stores, or particularly one that sold Japanese computer stuff. But I couldn't find anything. Nothing but clothing and other touristy stores. I'll have to check a phonebook. After a couple hours of walking I got tired and sat down at this little ramen place run by some Koreans and I ordered a kimchee ramen. It was was quite spicy and eventually became more sweat-flavored as my face melted into the bowl.
I started to walk home after that but somehow ended up getting myself really lost. The neat part about that was that I found a Daiei--a chain of Japanese supermarkets. Also right near the Daiei was Book Off-ish used book/video/music store. The selection wasn't so great...but it still felt like home in there. I got the first volume of Tokyo Daigaku Monogatari by Egawa Tatsuya, who made Golden Boy.
After leaving the shop though I was even more lost, and remained so for about 5 hours. I finally found my way home at around 9:30 and my legs were killing me so I just went to sleep.
Next day I woke up feeling like crap and realized I had cold. There was stuff to get done, like get my student ID and open a bank account, so I got up anyways. But every frickin' thing on campus was closed. My head felt like a brick so I just went back to my dorm and spent the rest of the day finishing up Noir and also watching some of Fruits Basket.
I really felt bad for Chloe. I went to sleep around 6:30, and had a really freaky apocalyptic dream inspired by one part Noir and two parts Evangelion. Woke up at 12:45 and tried to watch some more Fruits Basket only to discover that episode 7 was corrupt so I can't continue until someone sends me a working episode 7. Episode 4 was also corrupt but I skipped it since I had seen it before anyways. I hope there's no more that're corrupt -_-;;
I didn't eat at all yesterday...so I think I'm gonna finish this up and go find food. It's been probably almost 48 hours since I last ate.
I'm thinking of making a t-shirt that says simply 「ワイキキに浜部位日本人の女の子がいっぱいだぜ！」 ("waikiki ni wa mabui nihonjin no onna no ko ga ippai da ze"="There sure are a lot of hot Japanese girls in Waikiki!") and it'll have a picture of Yukie Nakama or something on it. I wanna wear it around just to see what kinda reaction it gets. And it's sooo true too. I've also even seen a few cute white girls. But Japanese or not they're all just tourists *sigh* I've only seen one girl on campus who really piqued my interest. I saw her while waiting to take the Japanese placement test, and she was talking to this short chubby Samoan guy who was also waiting to take the test. I though she was gonna take it too, but she left just before it started. Maybe she's studying Japanese too and I'll see her again, but I dunno. I guess there'll be a lot more people around too once classes start.
