I just saw a piece on CNN whining about how the current Marine One helicopter costs $400 million OMG!!! In the current economic climate how can Obama spend so much money on a helicoptarrrr!?L!>!>!E!KL>J#
Um, first of all, it wasn't his choice to make. It was developed and built by the time he was in office. And even if it was, I wouldn't be complaining. In the CNN piece they tried to list of some of the technology that goes into it, but they clearly don't have a grasp on the full picture. I mean, this is the aircraft that the president escapes in if Washington gets nuked. They can't even begin to understand the complexity of some of the technology in that thing. This isn't a fucking corporate luxury jet we're talking about here, and I think everything that goes into it is well worth it to protect the president, whether it's Barack Obama or Dubya.
