It's been a while. Also
miraba just called me. She was out with my car, and she called to say it wouldn't start. It was my fault--I left the lights on when I got home tonight, and the battery must have been low.
What else has happened...
Since this is my first post in a while it's hard to think of everything. The only notables for now:
- I got a hamster for the first time since I was about 11. His name is Oden, and he is extremely cute, and severly afflicted with the dumb. I will post pictures of him once I have some--he still seems a little freaked by his new surroundings. What I want to do is take him to work with me so I can have an actual hamster turning a wheel while I work, but I have yet to ask my boss if it's okay to keep a pet.
- We got Brawl on Sunday. miraba played it for about 8 hours that day, and quite a bit since then too. I have played it...not as much. But some. At some point I will post my friend code and play with people. I usually use Yoshi.
- Speaking of which, Micro Center is my new favorite store. (The connection is due to the fact that I found our copy of SSBB there). It recently opened where the old CompUSA was on Rockville Pike. I was kinda sad when it closed--it's been there since I was a wee one, and there are two things I particularly remember getting there: My family's first 486 with Windows 3.1 (!!!) and the original Prince of Persia. But Micro Center blows it all the hell away. It's so geek-friendly. Heck, right on the front window was a poster for their annual case modding contest. Tons and tons of neat stuff there--not *everything* I might at any point be looking for, but certainly lots. Next time I need a new power supply for example, I'm going straight there. And they had sales people who actually seemed to kinda know what they're talking about. At the checkout line they have a wall of products from Think Geek, and right by the cash register were boxes of 2GB SD cards and USB drives for $9.99 each--it's like geek candy. That place is dangerous for me. I ended up spending $100 there, and that was only with an enormous amount of self control.
- I leave for Chicago for a week on Thursday for PyCon. IF YOU LIVE IN OR NEAR CHICAGO CALL ME AND LET'S HOOK UP.
