C'mon CNN

On CNN they're reading off the names of the kids who were killed in the Virginia Tech shootings, which is fine. I don't object to that in principle.

But c'mon CNN, why don't you also do that, for example, for all the soldiers who die in Iraq. Lots of them are college age, and while they may be soldiers, a lot of them are doing it out of a lack of better opportunities. And even the ones who did join the military entirely by choice are still tragically being killed off before their time.

And of course we can't even begin to expect them to read all the names of the 200 some Iraqis who died yesterday, or even one for that matter.

I realize that nothing I'm saying here is an original. But the lack of perspective is really starting to grate on me.

cnn, media, perspective, death
