This weekend was pretty... lazy. After being sick, all I really felt like I could do this weekend was lay around. Friday night I got tons of sleep, but I still needed a two and a half hour nap when John came home from class. I never took a shower and I never got out of my pajamas. That was Saturday. We did watch Ladder 49 at night though. It was an OK movie, but I didn't appreciate the ending. It did get points for making me cry though. Today started out just the same. Just as I was about to take my nap, Rian and Emma called. Rian is John's friend from college and Emma is his wife. They live over in St. Paul. Anyway, when we went out for my birthday, I got Emma convinced that she wanted a puppy and she started working on Rian. Then we went over there for a wine party a couple weeks ago and they had decided to get a Boston Terrier in June. Emma's a teacher so that was going to be a good time. But they got a puppy yesterday! That's why they called! Her name is Polly and she's 11 days younger than Porter, but about twice her size. Maybe not twice her size, but twice as heavy. She's more stocky than Porter. So after the phone call, I sprang into the shower. We took Porter over to meet Polly for a play date. They played pretty hard. It was funny. I got some good pictures of them. Polly was so funny because she's totally a snorter. She was like a little pig. She's a really great puppy though. More mellow than Porter. I still love my little Porter more though. Porter graduates from Puppy Kindergarten on Thursday. We're very proud of her. She's learned a lot. Or maybe we just have. She definately has learned to sit on command though. Especially if there's a treat involved. She usually sits before you even ask if you have a treat in your hand. We still have to work on laying, coming, standing and attention. One down, 4 to go. OK, I better get to bed.
