I wish your white knights would stop encouraging you to repeat your mistakes. A good friend is someone who helps you get better, not someone who shifts the blame to other people.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean here; I haven't really been in enough situations to warrant having 'white-knights'. At any rate, I discourage the behaviour. If a situation is legitimate, I'd rather stand and face it, and if I face wank, I'd rather it just be quietly ignored. White-knighting doesn't actually help anyone. I'm not the type to blame others for my problems. At any rate, my closest friends have been the ones to offer the harshest criticism, to my face- because they know I'll accept what they're saying and work to improve that.

I mean that it's hard to give you advice when some of your friends insist that you've done nothing wrong. I respect that you don't listen to people who praise you and make you feel better all the time when something has gone wrong. This comment was more about the behavior of those around you than about you personally. I wasn't clear on the "shifting blames to other people,". I meant that some of your friends shift the blame in a situation onto someone who's not you.

But hey, this is a "I've always wanted to tell you..." thread, so I thought that I could bring it up here, at least.
