So its been about a week now that ive been in New York. Technically ive only been on my own a few days since my folks helped me my first week by helping me shop and find furniture. Its been interesting to say the least.
The week my folks where here i was mostly walking on eggshells since they have been pretty sensative these last few years. I was very stressed out but still the day they left i was very sad. It feels very weird that they live an ocean away.
I wont bore you guys with all the details of my past week. I will say that i have a great cable package that includes Cable/Broadband Internet/and Unlimited calls for 98 bucks a month. That is a very sweet deal. I hope they dont raise it on me.
I dont miss Puerto Rico. To be honest the island and me never really got along. Well im lying, the people of the island and me never really got along. I am very proud of being Puertorican but I just cant communicate with that culture, i was always an outsider. So there is no lost love for PR.
As for my friends, well thats the strange thing i dont feel i have lost them, all of us have a road we have to go down, this one is mine. Personally i think Juan might make the same leap as me.
My apartment is pretty sweet, ill be posting pictures of it, in the near future.
The other day i went to midtown comics, turns out my book sold 16 out of 20 issues! They have the left over books in the back bins marked up to 3.25! I still cant get over that, Jim Hanleys on the other hand has not sold one issue. I think my book is too mainstream for their mini comic clients. Thats always been my flaw, my projects tend to fall between the cracks, so they are hard to lable.
As i was walking out of the comic shop i looked up and i felt like all those skycrappers are where my dreams live and now i have to climb those towers. It was a very Lord of the Rings feeling. Luckly there is no gay Sam anywhere near me.
I already went on a job interview and tomorrow i have another one lined up as well. Im looking forward to getting to know this city, I think it will be good for me...
