Good times
You know what makes me feel really, really good? Being off on an evening when my friends are getting together and being able to join them! On top of that, I got to meet someone new. Great day!
The reason for the occasion is they found a coupon for a party-size frozen lasagna with garlic bread, a cake, and some vegetables. Sounds totally silly, but it's all the reason I need! Also watched the movie Taken, which is pretty darn good. I imagined it was an older, grizzled Jason Bourne.
The broken pipe under the kitchen is fixed. They finished about 9:30 on Friday night and only had to extend the trench a couple more feet before they found an intact pipe. The old one was so badly corroded it was disintegrating in the plumbers' hands. They speculated that the water from the kitchen and laundry room had not actually been draining to the street for years. It would hit the blocked and broken section and then just disperse under the slab. They poured concrete into the hole, and now we're getting someone in the replace the tiles they ripped up. I'm just glad I have the kitchen back!
This has, however, convinced my parents that they're going to just sell the house when they move to Australia.
Recently Harmonix released a ton of info on Rock Band 3, and I am stoked. Vocal harmonies, a keyboard peripheral that can function as a real keyboard, and new controllers that can actually teach you how to play the instruments, plus lots of new songs including the Doors. Could the likes of Billy Joel and Elton John be in the works? Hard to say. E3 is going on this week, so I'm hoping to see even more info.
