In Retrospect...
I often find myself missing Japan. Usually I rationalize it away as having missed the freedom of living independently of my parents more than the actual place per se.
However, I had an epiphany today that made me glad I'm NOT there anymore: Were I still in Japan, I would be going beyond broke collecting Macross Frontier merchandise and doujinshi. And it would happen too, because I would know where to find it! I can get by on pretty meager means, but there's a limit to how many times I can dine on tofu and rice before I start craving meat again. This thought came to me after seeing an especially pretty and shipworthy Alto / Sheryl doujinshi on the net today.
That fandom would spell the death of me, no doubt about it.
