I really don't follow hockey and I only know who's who because of fic. So, I really shouldn't have any feelings about the Stanley Cup Finals. But I seem to be reading a lot of Sid/Geno, especially that lovely Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe refugee fic that features Olli Maata, the Penguins and other players from different teams.

I admit that I read fic before I started following hockey. Not actually a fan of Sid in real life but his eccentric ways make him possibly the best fic character regardless of pairing.

In this case, Sid's post-match interview makes me crave Sid/Flower something fierce.

I think you can ship Sid with everyone he's ever met. I've read a lovely Sid/Tazer Olympics fic, a Sid/Segs post WC, but there's a great amount of feeling when you read him with any of his teammates. I've even read Sid/Ovi, I think the only think I haven't read is Sid/Mario because no.

If you read Check Please, you can see a lot of Sid's DNA (and Jonny Toews) in the creation of Jack Zimmerman.

I remember requesting Sid/Tazer as a result of that Olympic fic. Then again, Jonny is my favorite hockey player so makes sense I hold a special spot for that pairing.

I know this is wrong but I just cannot get absorbed into the world of Check Please.
