Links

I know for sure now that at least one person is reading this, (thanks, by the way), so I'll throw out a few links, just in case anyone else is out there.

Locus Online - More than any other site I've seen, Locus Online has it's finger planted firmly on the pulse of the genre. They regularly post SF-oriented news, and have several extensive databases, and a very handy portal.

The Internet Speculative Fiction Database - Incomplete, but still very useful. Although I do wish that they'd convert to a Wiki-based system that's open for editing by users.

SF-Books.com - An online book trading community, focused primarily on SF/F/H (of course). At first, I was skeptical that such a system would actually work, but it does. There's no money exchanged - it's a simple point-based economy. Send a book to someone and you get a point. Receive a book from someone and you give them a point. You're also given a point for recruiting a new member. I was actually kind of worried that there wouldn't be enough points floating around in the economy (as far as I can see, recruiting is the only way points are created), but I was wrong. It's been a few months since I joined, and I've completed six transactions.

Beyond Reality - An online discussion group, linked to me by an SF-Books member. I haven't had time to really check it out, but it looks like they really have their stuff together, and have a lot of participating members. Great!
