Was in Colorado Springs the last couple weeks. So yeah, if you didn't see much of me online...that's why. c_c REI sent me to
Barnett Bicycle Institute to complete their master tech training program, a requirement for certified / master techs. Most of it was review, but they filled in a few blanks.
I'd packed along my snowboard with the intention of hooking up with some folks and hitting the mountains over the weekend, but when I opened the bag on Monday evening as soon as I arrived at the hotel,
this is what I saw... After spending the rest of the evening in the bowels of the Colorado Springs airport talking to the airline, an agreement was reached to compensate me for both damage (to the deck and the jacket that had been wrapped around it) and my rental for the weekend. I was able to track down a shop locally that hooked me up with something much nicer than your average baby buggy bumper it's-my-first-time-ever-seeing-snow rental board and managed to have a pretty rockin' time on Sunday with
direwolf23 and
tekfox at Copper. Thanks to both of them for putting me up and especially for doing all the driving.
Also snugs to
armadillos for letting me crash Friday night and taking me around. I'll definitely remember to hit up Benny's again for margaritas next time I'm in Denver! Hope you enjoyed the tour of the catacombs under the Denver flagship store. XD
As for Colorado Springs, wasn't much to do after hours...I hooked up with a couple locals one night, went on a pub crawl with one of our teachers another, spent most of the evenings just studying, watching TV and staying as connected as possible with my phone. Laptop has definitely been bumped up a few notches on the 'things to buy' list, hopefully before I travel again. :P
