What of the greatest scandals of my young life was something that happened at Fortnightly.
Fortnightly was a place where we wore nice dresses and gloves, and were forced to dance awkwardly with boys (I usually danced with the same 2 or 3) or if there was a boy shortage another girl. I learned the Chacha, and the waltz and all that ballroom stuff, that at the time i had no interest in. At the final part i ate 3 peaces of cake whole useing my finger rather than silverware to prove that all this had not civilized me. One of the guys i had danced with thought it was hilarious.
Anyway they used to play "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" the version by Queen, and in 7th grade i sadly only knew that Queen had sung that 'funny' song in Wayne's World. I think they were trying to be hip, which is hard when they are an old guy chanting over the microphone "a slide, a quick quick, slide" I wonder what i was supposed to doing there, cause i don't remember. But i remember I HATED that song, HATED Queen, so sad. indeed sad.
And that is the insight of the day.
Toodles my caboodles.
