1. There was a headless body of a kestral near my aparment door for a long while, it kind of looked like a car may have taken its head off because it was right at that spot where sidewalk meets street (I know, it's called a curb, but the curb's so low there that it's practically non-existant). It made me so sad to see. Kestrals are easily my favorite bird because I've grown up watching them around my apartment.
2. Dad was telling me yesterday about a guy, I think his name was Bell who's a well know violinist, who sat in the New York underground with a 300 year old Strativarius violin and played all kinds of classical music. Apparently no one stopped to listen. Kids would stop to listen, but the parent pulled them away. It's sad that we're all in such a hurry that we can't stop to enjoy classical music. One woman thought she recognized him, so she put a $20 in his case. But thinking about it, would I have stopped? I wouldn't have recognized him, but I don't know that I'd have walked over to him because of the expectation of my giving him money with his case open. That makes me uncomfortable. So I think that'd be the main reason I wouldn't do anything. Just food for thought.
