Long time no see...in NYC

Yep, this kitteh ish in NYC. I'm so tired...

I just got back from Times Square -- my coworker and I had to go survey people out on the streets for one of our clients, AT&T Wireless. Oh, I'm currently an intern at this PR firm down on 5th Ave and 20th St. If you know where that is, anyway.

I have another month to endure. So far, I've only been doing bitch work, and that sucks, because my creativity hasn't had a chance to thrive to its fullest potential. I'm relatively shy, so it's SO DIFFICULT to ask people to fill out these crappy surveys...argh. I may be outgoing in other aspects, but not when it comes to bothering people for info.

I'm actually homesick. My sorority sisters have been really active back in Houston, and I haven't done jack to help them. And for that, I'm really ashamed of myself.

I thought I was going to make a full recovery to AL, but my mindset has changed due to certain stuff. Oh well. There goes the good times.

The subway system would be so great...if it wasn't so flawed. That's a "duh" comment, right? I like the fact that it's such a good way to transport lots of people at once, but...it's always unpredictable in terms of timeliness. I've gone to work late so many times because the train was stalled. Who's to blame then? I'm sick of making excuses for myself everyday, especially when it wasn't my fault in the first place.

I just got the WORST makeover today at Sephora. If you buy something in Sephora, they'll give you a makeover for free, so my friend thought I should try it out. And try it out I did. Wow. I must say that the makeup artist was very friendly. But that's the only good part. First off, my foundation was WAY TOO DARK. I looked like I just stepped out of a crappy tanning salon, and the color contrasted with the rest of my body, since my skin color is actually paler than that stupid bronze shade. Second, the eyeshadow was competely ridiculous. It was this outrageously shimmery lilac hue, spread carelessly all over my eyelids...

I looked like a clown. A hideous one, at that.

Did I buy anything as part of the deal? Hell no. I snuck out of Sephora when the people weren't looking.

Once I was free from Sephora, I was thinking about continuing the survey process, but after I thought of all the people I would scare off, I headed home. More surveying tomorrow, with 88 people to go.

That's all the complaining I have for today. I know I haven't posted at LJ for a long time -- my apologies. I hope you all are doing great where ever you are in this vast world. *mwah* <3
