, I'm not sure if it has a different name in GIMP. The way I use it, setting it to screen and soft light, is almost identical(or it might be, I'm not sure) to duplicating the layer and setting each duplicate to screen or soft light as the blending mode. I like it because I can add some more coloring elements than if I just duplicated the layer.
I also highlighted what fill is; it's basically exactly the same as opacity, I just use fill for some reason. The only time fill and opacity are different is when you use a select few blend modes, which I didn't use any of in this tutorial.
