So, The Digimon Savers dub "Digimon Data Squad" premiered on Monday.
and I,
was impressed.
I was expecting it to be decent, I thought Jeff Nimoy asking the fans who they'd like to hear as voice actors was genius, but I was still thought there might be some stupid dialouge and cuts. I already knew that Agumon kicking Masaru in the crotch would be out, which is understanble,
but WOW.
The voice acting was naturally lovely, and the voice actors had the right ideas with their voices, I, honestly, didn't like Marcus's voice at first, but it grew on me, so I'm cool with it now.
The only voice I REALLY don't like is Falcomon. D: I know Ravemon will sound awesome, but I loved Falcomon's adorable voice that steadily became more mature as he evolved, but I'll either get used to it, or voice over his english voice with a cuter one in my mind. xD
The only cut in the episode that I'm aware of was Agumon's crotch-kick. That's it. No pointless, random, edits, and I LOVE that.
There were no corny jokes, I love that, too. There were a couple of jokes I don't think were originally in there, but I'm cool with it; it worked well with the scenes and didn't make them awkward, which is a HUGE step up for Digimon dubbing.
Kamemon's talking I was ok with it, at least we know that he'll talk in the future, unlike PawnChessmon, who needed their partners to speak for them. XD
and Hiroshi's name to Homer made me think "D'OH" but don't worry guys, that just means I'll crack up laughing everytime a character says Homer. :D
And I'm glad to hear GeoGreymon say Mega Flame, that was a lovely, lovely, surprise. (How many people thought he'd say Nova Blast? I did.)
Jeff Nimoy, and Everyone, thanks for what could possibly be one of the best first Digimon episodes ever, and you can count on me to tune in every Monday and Friday to watch Digimon Data Squad.
