Pottermore

I took the sorting hat quiz on Pottermore and I'm confused about the results. I was placed in Slytherin. It's not that I don't like Slytherin house. I'm both a fan of both Snape and Draco (preferably slashed with Harry). I just don't think I fit there personally. When my friends and I were talking about what house I would be sorted into, Slytherin was the one we were sure I wouldn't get into. I thought I was a Ravenclaw, maybe a Hufflepuff. So I'm not certain what to think about the results.

Slytherins are usually cunning, I'm a bit naive. They are ambitious, I'm trying to be an elementary school teacher, and granted, I think it'd be cool to be a principal some day, but it's not something I actually think I'd be good at. I'm in no way organized.

One possibility is hinted at in the welcome letter. It comments that Slytherins have a lot of solidarity, specifically contrasting that with Ravenclaw which has a lot of competition. I wonder if I had both Slytherin and Ravenclaw traits, but got into Slytherin because I chose options which made it clear I was more interested in solidarity then competition. I also know one of the questions that contributed to me being in Slytherin was the result of misinterpretation on my part. After I was sorted, I looked back on the questions and realized that they intended one of the answers I chose differently than I did.

Overall, I don't dislike my house, I'm just confused. I wonder if I would have been sorted into the same house with twice as many questions. I actually find the traits of Slytherin interesting. I like shinobi and shadow magic, rouges and tricksters all of which probably could fit in Slytherin house. I just don't see any of the Slytherin traits in myself.

The welcome letter says people sorted into Slytherin are destined for greatness. I don't see it in myself but... who knows?
