I spent part of my midday fixing this LJ: from re-reading older entries that I've seriously forgotten I've ever written about--I did shudder at some memories, and I laughed and cried with some; to privatizing the older posts, and to changing the layout etc.
I have a lot to fix, and to re-learn. I also have a lot to unlearn. Wow. It's really been a while. I'm far from finished, so much work to do!
Anyhow. Before I go on my real posting matters, any of you watch this?
Usagi Drop
It's an anime currently showing in Japan at the moment, I watch it through YouTube. It's an easy search, and many resources would pop out, but I recommend yamilayamilayamila's channel. I thank the subbing goddesses and fairies for quickly subbing this anime, that people all over the world get to watch it. :)
I'm not an Otaku. I'm not an intense anime person. I used to love anime, but when the subculture just became too intense (pretend that anime applies in real life kind of intense), I parted ways from it, cause it freaked me out to have people, as we say in Filipino "Feeling Anime."
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Otakus though, or people who really immerse and live-out the subculture. But I'm quite the realist, and I couldn't stand the pretend mode beyond a Halloween party. Because I don't want to be rude as my patience can only bear so much, I gladly just step out of the picture when a superlative behavior over something anime comes up.
So you could say, that it's rare that I talk about anime, although I enjoy watching it in general. And that, I absolutely am picky about the anime I watch. I am inclined to good plots in light comedy, gender comedy, and human drama. Fantasy is... so-so. I'm ok with it, provided that there's a really good. As in REALLY good story behind it.
Usagi Drop is an anime that unexpectedly fell into my preference list. I "discovered" it through serendipity. And I'm quite fond of it. It's heartwarming and moving, and human. I'm still not sure where the series would lead to story-wise at this point in time. I tried reading the plot spoilers or summaries but felt they were inadequate (i.e. I'm still lost on the story)... so I figured that I'll just let the story unfold and I shall enjoy its unfolding.
So far so good. Maybe by next week, I can actually make something like a critique about it? We'll see. But in case you're looking for a good story, and a good intellectual-emotional rub; the kind that resets your universe to zero because it's so simple that it's true, then you have to watch Usagi Drop.
Now, my other question is... how do I do an LJ cut again? (>_<)
Lolz. Yep, I'm using HTML, not fond of Rich Text on LJ. hehehehe.
