Hello! I did one of these for a favorite slashy moment for Logan/Duncan. But I am expanding the series to all slashy subtext (and possible het subtext, if there's a good reason they need to keep that het subtext. (Okay, the only example I'm thinking of there is Cassidy and Kendall. What of it?)).
ANYWAY. Because femslash does not and has not ever gotten enough love in any fandom, I now present to you: Meg & Veronica, from "Ruskie Business"! Context? Context is for suckers.
It starts with Meg bursting into Veronica's homel, dressed for the dance, and declaring her intentions against male romance. There was no way for this not to go lesbian, was there? And Meg doesn't waste any time, outright inviting Veronica to the dance. With that smile. I only just noticed this while making this picspam, but seriously, Alona Tal is one of the most adorable people on the PLANET. Look at her! How could anyone resist that sweet, "this-is-my-silly-crush" grin? Veronica can't.
And Meg dresses Veronica in the famous "Manilla Whore Barbie" outfit. Subtle, St. Blonde. Ah, we love you for it. Veronica hear gets to find out who Meg's secret admirer is, which makes her all sadface. (Okay, here is where that context thing comes in. I love the DuVe, but that's against the point of the picspam.)
So they go to the dance, all ready for the girl-power/lesbian undertones night. But it goes wrong! Oh noes! Meg isn't ready after all; it does very much sound like she's refusing to dance with Veronica here. Veronica is obviously upset by Meg's rejection, but she hides the disappointment.
But Meg does it with that adorable grin again, so she can't be resented (seriously, Cass. You know I love you, but SHE WAS SO PRETTY). Veronica has no choice but to give her a corsage. I'm serious. A corsage. Yeah, yeah, that context thing, I know. But still. A CORSAGE?
Then Meg's actual secret admirer walks in, and Veronica has to flee the room. I like how Meg is about a billion times more focused on Veronica and her reaction than she is on Duncan here. Where the priorities lie. Veronica's barely hiding the tears, but she just wants her beloved to be happy.
So she has to get to her car before breaking down and crying. Aww. Poor baby (Veronica seems to get screwed over in these subtext picspams.)
So thar you are. To summarise:
1) Meg and Veronica are femslashy.
2) Alona Tal is my squishy.
3) There is no such thing as context unless you let there be.
