Yeah its just that he rationalized it as being for Kurt that really got to me, and that he didn't really want to acknowledge that he was wrong so much as deny that it ever happened. I have this scene in my head where Carol and Finn are at the table with Kurt and Burt and Carole asks what happened to Finns' wrist and he says that it happened during football practice. I picture Burt just sitting there doing the whole deny, deny, deny. The only issue is I don't know how Kurt would react, probably excusing himself to the bathroom. If that did happen I see a mini-scene in the bathroom where Finn comes in and Kurt saying that he has never been afraid of his father before now, but Finn being the rationalizing idiot he is says that he was trying to protect Kurt. From there things kind of calm down, except another incident happens like Kurt getting jumped and Finn rescues him just a little to late so Kurt is banged up, enough to be painful but not life threatening. When they get back Burt sees Kurt and flips completely out and of course Finn actually says 'I'm sorry' so Burt go's after Finn. Burt doesn't do a lot of damage, but that doesn't make it less. Carole's not there so she doesn't know this is happening so when she gets back Finn and Kurt are in Kurt's room trying to get cleaned up and Burt tells her that both Kurt and Finn got jumped not just Kurt so when she rushes down there to see if they are OK she actually scolds in that angry thank god you're not dead manner Finn and says that he is lucky that he didn't get hurt as much as Kurt did. Kurt and Finn take this as her being OK with the whole situation not knowing Burt lied to her. And it just degenerates from there until Burt can't even come close to having a manufactured reason for beating the crap out of Finn. Unfortunately that is all I got bunny wise and I have no idea how I would write this out properly and have no really idea how it would end other than badly.

Thats the thing I am great when it comes to ideas and summaries but when it comes to the actual writing of a story I generally need a co-author to help flesh it out and keep me on task. Here is one of the snippets that I have: Kurt and Finn hear the front door slam and both sigh in relief now that Carol is home. Burt will most likely get his ass handed to him when she finds out what happened to Finn. Kurt suddenly hears a shrieked "What?!" and pounding footsteps. As the basement door open Kurt can't help but feel a sliver of dread and wonder if Carole will blame him for what happened to Finn as his father had blamed Finn for what had happened to him. As Carol descends the stairs Kurt notices that her face is flushed in anger. He flinches as the shouting starts. "How can you two be so stupid! You both know how dangerous that neighborhood is, how many times do you have to be told to stay away from Lincoln Heights? Be glad you weren't killed! And Finn how could you not protect your brother properly!" Wait he did, if Finn hadn't saved him he probably would be dead by now. "Count your blessings that you only got a couple bruises, it's no less than what you deserve for your stupidity. I mean this has to be the millionth time I told you to stay away from there. I don't care that the Lopez girl lives there, now give me a hug, next time be more careful, so this doesn't have to happen again." As Carol hugged Finn then Kurt, Kurt couldn't breath, the normal warmth that accompanied Carols hugs felt hot and suffocating. How could she be okay with this? His father beat just beat her son. This is all his fault.
