(no subject)
Here's an overview of the past couple of weeks.
-Buc Parade...Three miles is probably one of the most stupid ideas the city has ever had. It was still pretty fun though.
-Circle K Picnic...Pretty cool. Broken Icee machines, odd nicknames from Grace, and little kids you recognize but can't place make for some interesting memories. Give it up for the first sunburn of the season! I DIDN'T PEEL! =]
-Week 5/8-5/12...Pretty boring yet busy at the same time due to idiotic teachers, such as Ms. Holm.
-Hailey's Party...Super awesome and surprisingly not too awkward given the fact that I didn't know the majority of people there. I got sunburned...again. Good news is that I got off as one of the lucky ones with only read shoulders and kneecaps and a brown-ish tan line everywhere else.
-Mother's Day...A slow day. Usual visits to grandmothers and aunts topped off by serving my mom dinner at a Mother's Day Dinner given by Lifeteen. I was pretty tired most of the day so I tried to sleep whenever and wherever I could.
-Week 5/15-5/19...Monday was the Spring Concert. It was fun. Afterward, went to eat with Chance, Simon, Sarah, Rachel, Matt, and Laura. Interesting yet odd at the same time. I also got my TAKS scores; commended performances in both Reading and Math. Tuesday brought about the dress code issue. With Wednesday came petitions and yearbooks. Thursday was pretty much devoted to dress code and work for Mr. G.
-Yesterday,my last day...The band played at the Senior Farewell Assembly. I liked most of the speeches. I verified a meeting for a group of us to meet with asst. principals next Wednesday at 1:30. Hopefully that will go well. The rest of the day was spent signing yearbooks and enjoying life. I threw myself a little "NO MORE MS. HOLM!!" party from the second I opened her door to leave til about 5 minutes after I got in the band hall. Right before we were kicked out of the band hall, I got one of those sinking feelings in the pit of my stomach. It's at that moment every year that I hate the last day of school. The feeling that I'm one year less away from having to leave, from having everyone leave. It leaves me a bit bummed.
-NHI News...After school I had a meeting til 8 and I gave a speech which I personally didn't care for because I was given the CON side of the argument for the topic "With the current state of the Latino Community, should Latinas pave and walk the road to the future of the Latino Community?" Uhh hello?! Of course my opinions are the complete OPPOSITE of what I had to write. Oh well that's life. Apparently, the coaches believed I did okay and suggested that I give more evidence supporting my points and pretty much just work on my B.S. skills. Oh, and passion...it seems to be my biggest issue at the moment. Anywho, I have to work on a speech for tomorrow.
-Goals and events of this weekend...
1.Get speech written that I'm happy with.
2.Make it to quince practice on time.
3.Clean my room.
4.Go to Grace's Quince.
5.Cousin's Baptismal.
6.NHI meeting.ON TIME!
7.Church and Lifeteen.
8.Type up alternate dress code.
9.Make time for SLEEP.
10.Get in a few Sudoku puzzles(I think I'm hooked)
