Fabian Kuijpers, oldest at 18. A runaway from a neglectful family at age 13, he learnt how to shoplift and has been in and out of shared crashes prior to meeting Kaja. Creature-class mutant, though it's debatable as to what animal he's supposed to take after. The closest thing they have to a meatshield, even if it's by virtue of being the tallest. Within nine years, he Accidentally An Immortal and jumps off the slope entirely.
Fabian spends a lot of time being an angry teenager, except when he isn't. Made a lot of Bad Life Choices, and is perhaps a little bitter that he will pay for them for the rest of his life. Cynical, but surprisingly responsible once he accidentally became leader. Tends to assume more responsibility than he has to, which might have contributed to some sanity slippage on his end. Used to life being shit, yet can't help but despise the idea of it happening to people who don't deserve it...provided they're people he gives a shit about. Kinda hypocritical.

Kaja Nylund, 15 years old. Born in the same violent neighbourhood they live in and has been there all her life. She was raised by tough-as-nails old lady she called Grandma, but god knows if they're actually related. Illiterate. Totally normal human being who happens to have a natural talent for kicking ass and taking names. BFFs with Fabian. Grows up to become a roaming hermit.
Serious, deadpan, doesn't take crap from anyone. While incredibly blunt and horribly desensitized to violence, she is first and foremost a survivalist -- she doesn't like taking any more risks than strictly necessary. Paradoxically rather fatalistic, at least when it comes to herself, and is the sort of person who would flatout reject luxury for modesty. Probably the only kid you can legitly say is well-balanced and sane, though she's not afraid to do crazy shit to scare and intimidate. Believes in tough love.

Marcell Csorba, age 13. Grew up with a mother who hated his guts and eventually abandoned him. In a panic, he ran out into the streets and since then has found himself stuck there, too afraid to seek help from adults. Met Fabian and Kaja when he tried to pickpocket from them. Meta-class mutant who can create an impenetrable box-shaped barrier that isolates everything within from the outside world; the "Ultimate Defense". They just call it The Box, though. Later becomes a butler to the Tennfjord family.
Young, frightened and perpetually on the verge of having a nervous breakdown. He's coped with everything in his life crappily, yet somehow hasn't actually broke. Riddled with self-blame and a self-esteem hovering above rockbottom. Generally non-confrontational and passive, hoping problems will go away or leave him alone if he endures it long enough. But with all this pushing around and being stepped all over by life, surely he has a limit...

Alp Nagi, 12 years old. A foreigner brought into the country as a slave and managed to escape through sheer determination and a metric ton of luck. Originally came from a poor family in a neighbouring country wrecked to bits by war. A very good talker, he's usually the one playing distraction while the older kids steal, and helps them sell some of the stolen goods to other street kids for money. Prodigious mage with untapped talent due to the whole slave thing; he still has his slave collar which punishes him when attempting to cast any spells other than the magical equivalent of a lighter. Technically kind of illiterate. He can read! It's just not the language everyone uses, whoops. Later becomes a merchant specializing in traditional medicine.
Cheerful, friendly and polite! He almost seems normal, even. Actually a Stepford Smiler to the max who kept himself together with a lot of optimism and gallows humor. He highly values his freedom and absolutely fears the idea of it being taken away from him again. This is the kid who, when faced with the possibility of dying while trying to escape, didn't really mind it because "it's not as if people can order me around when I'm dead". In truth incredibly intelligent, though he dumbs himself down to appear harmless.

Lilya, 9 years old and the youngest. Tiny amnesiac girl they picked up out of pity and guilty conscience. They don't know what happened to her, other than she's apparently been cut up before, and she certainly doesn't remember, having repressed all the trauma and permanently glued part of her brain to Cloud Cuckoo Land. She can't even remember her own name; her current one was given by Kaja. Meta-class mutant; she has creepy spiral red eyes that manipulate perception through eye contact, ranging from mildly eerie visions to horrifying traumamindfuck hallucinations. She has no control over this, and only knows that "bad things" happen when people look into her eyes, so she avoids looking at others directly and frequently closes her eyes for no real reason. Yet another illiterate kid. Grows up to help at a free school and become mommyfigure to a sentient fairy.
Moe. She's a dumb adorable kid who doesn't comprehend the terrible things that happen around her, filtering them with childish logic. So she still believes in things like THE GOODNESS OF PEOPLE and HAPPY ENDINGS without any real caveats or jaded tint attached. Just wants people to be happy and get along and please don't hurt her family. Very non-violent and given her age, rather dependent on the others. Tends to retreat into her own mind when under distress, sort of attempting to dissociate herself from the situation, which is...very not good for her.
