hail mary

After getting back from the zoo, while waiting for a call from my brother in Mexico (the only time the Mormons let him call besides Christmas and Thanksgiving) I found a copy of History of Suicide: Voluntary Death in Western Culture in my mom's room. It's in almost perfect condition...she must have bought it after my dad died and then never touched it again. I read it for a while on the couch while she talked to my brother and then stashed it with my wet clothes and took it home. Part of the pile of homework I've been neglecting all week is to read the play 'night, Mother by Marsha Norman which I'd never heard of or touched until tonight. It's very short and the title caught my eye. Serendipitous poison is what is was.
