Dragoncon

Another much-belated update. What am I doing now? Still a little bit regretful about killing my journal, so I decided to post. Scoble says that you can't have a blog unless you post at least twice a month. But mine is a journal. Yes, I *do* consider it an actual journal, expect I've kept myself from writing in it. I was getting worried that my journal was getting too revealing. I'm too liable to reveal disturbingly personal information about myself online. What with the AOL search fiasco and all (the people responsible just got fired, y'know?).

I'll be at Atlanta attending Dragoncon. Doubt if any of you are going though. It's this weird scifi convention. Mostly being dragged there by this friend who has an insane crush on Summer Glau (River from Firefly). Wonder when (if ever) they'll send me a postcard saying when my ticket is going to arrive. I can totally see myself in Atlanta trying to convince the people at the gate, "Yes, I did buy a ticket. See here it is on my credit card statement. No I don't have an actual ticket. How the hell am I supposed to have it when you guys won't buy a 37c stamp and mail it to me!!!". At least a completely-free automated email would have been nice. Their online ticket shop just deducted the money from my VISA without so much as a thank you.

Ah, now that that is out of my system I feel so much better. That's what blogs are really about. Bitching!! Bitching to friends can make them annoyed and want to dump their coffee on your shirt. So doing it on a blog is the next best thing. People don't have to read all of it. They can skip the parts that are boring (like this one). And coffee doesn't travel well along the internet bandwidth pipes.
