Bad luck

I'm not having such a great time of late. I really don't want to burden your guys with my problems. But my LJ, to me is an outlet for my troubles. All the feelings and opinions which I feel I cannot share with any one else. It's like my secret diary that somehow is shared too.

Last Sunday I had a long and uncomfortable conversation with my parents. I'd just spent the whole weekend at I-CON, and Sunday night wasn't the best of times for me. As if finding a boyfriend wasn't difficult enough, now I'm getting pressure from my parents. They think I need to settle down and get married soon. And if I'm so pathetic that I cannot find someone on my own, they'll try to set me up. But that's not what I want. I don't want to get married. Not now, maybe not ever. ok, scratch that. I DO want to get married. I want a happy family with plenty of kids. A happy, sunny friendly household. The american dream with white picket fences and whatever. But I'm not ready for it. I've seen so little of life. I haven't sowed any wild oats, or done any of the exciting things in life. I'm not ready to settle down. I haven't even started doing the wild things people do before thet settle down.

To top it all, today was really bad. Since last night, there has been no heating or hot water in my apartment. Sure, they're hard at work fixing it. But that means I had to get to work without taking a shower this morning. And then I realise I'm out of cereal AND coffee. So no beakfast, no coffee, no shower. I had a doctor's appointment at 1030. Tt turns out they had some kind of mix-up. So I had to wait in the examination room for 40 mins feeling self concious and uncomfortable before the doctor finally showed up.

At lunch, they didn't have any decent soups. So I got the fried ravioli. But as luck would have it, I spilt the ravioli sauce all over my favorite sweatshirt. By the look of it, the stain isn't going to come out. That was because I got a call on my cellphone from ny dad which startled me. After Sunday night, talking with him is getting really uncomfortable. I love my family, and they're my last bastion of sanity in all this madness I call my life. If I have disagreements with them, I feel as if I'm losing the sole anchor to sanity I had.
