The Cure

If I could steal your thoughts,
For just a moment, every day,
See myself through rose tinted eyes,
I’d believe that I could shine…

But if only you could see my scars,
Beneath the skin, upon my bones.
You’ll take the rays you bath me in,
Just to hide me in the night.

For I am lost within my veins,
Begging to be released again.

Pray you’ll find me somehow
Teetering upon your perfect,
Grasp me, grasp me from the dark.
Together we could sleep through forever
Because I dream like I am not the disease,
And I have finally found the cure.

I am caught within the fight,
Between the words and the meaning,
Dousing each pulse with the laughter
I’ll speed the truth upon the lie.

And I am the echo that fades away,
I am the face within the crowd.
Blending in within the smiles
But cracking with mask.

For I am lost within my veins,
Begging to be released again.

Pray you’ll find me somehow
Teetering upon your perfect,
Grasp me, grasp me from the dark.
Together we could sleep through forever
Because I dream like I am not the disease,
And I have finally found the cure.

For I am lost within my veins,
Begging to be released again.
You and I against me….

Pray you’ll find me somehow
Teetering upon your perfect,
Grasp me, grasp me from the dark.
Together we could sleep through forever

Because I dream like I am not the disease,
And I have finally found the cure.
