Laptop computer was stolen and recently retrieved, completely cleaned of my photos and word documents. Going to begin again with LiveJournal, including the occasional public posts. The older part of this journal is intriguing, much like viewing a train wreck. The last entry was done upon returning from India. The 2nd to last, I believe, was over 100 weeks ago. Change happens.
I'm in my private study hall, now, the greenhouse at UH. I will miss this tiny room, but likely nothing else here. I'm not connected to the university or to the people. Spring 2009 it is likely that I'll be at SFASU, in "Naconowhere." I enjoy being at nowhere's. I might get there and regret spending so much time in Houston. It should take me 2 years to do what is needed there to complete a degree in agronomy, attending at least 3 summer semesters. With a minor in agriculture and a minor in zoology or general biology it should take 1-2 additional semesters. My plan allows for a summer off or a semester off with intensive summer hours to take its place. I hope to travel afterwards. The agronomy degree will be good for that. Peace Corps is an option, but hopefully will be a last resort.
I'm hoping to get an internship with Mercer Arboretum in Humble for the remainder of the semester.
The next entry will most likely be about the municipal composting. This city needs a composting program. The emphasis will be on the benefits of composting relating to setting a model for those along the Mississippi watershed -- eutrophication results in a dead zone in the Gulf, around 20,000 sq km. So far the fisheries aren't reporting great loss, but that shouldn't matter. It's thought that the complete dead zones of the Caspian and Dead Seas, leading to collapse of the anchovy + other fishing industries, originated from eutrophication.
