A not-so-old Kingdom Hearts AU idea

Metaru Ratto (8:27:40 PM): Except his 'Heartless', rather than removing people's hearts, digitize them, turning their bodies into code for him, to run project 'Kingdom Hearts'.

Metaru Ratto (8:30:48 PM): The 'Nobodies', as the research team called them, were being coded with the mental pathways of the assistants they were modeled after.
Metaru Ratto (8:31:30 PM): However, a systems malfunction because of a passing ion storm caused the neural coding to misfire, creating differences in their personalities, deviations from the originals.
Metaru Ratto (8:32:08 PM): Since their emotional pathways only half-finished for the most part, the Nobodies are left with a desire to better themselves, but are only capable of emotional emulation, not actual emotional responses.

Metaru Ratto (8:33:36 PM): Her assistant base was linked to the system, coding her pathways when an ion bolt struck the station.
Metaru Ratto (8:34:03 PM): The assistant was fried by the feedback, and this also carried over that physical response and pain to Larxene, causing machine rampancy.
Metaru Ratto (8:34:13 PM): Resulting in sadistic obsession.
Metaru Ratto (8:34:22 PM): She gives pain because she doesn't know what it is.
Metaru Ratto (8:35:19 PM): All of them were built with standardized self-defense mechanisms and built-in weaponry, but due to the malfunctions, and their own incomplete status, they were forced to finish their own weapons and defense protocols based on the coding and raw materials available on the station.
Metaru Ratto (8:35:25 PM): That's why they all have unique weapons.
Metaru Ratto (8:35:36 PM): Lack of supplies for standardized armaments.
Metaru Ratto (8:36:43 PM): Vexen modified the cryonic storage systems, microsizing them and developing it into a negatively thermal weapon, even gaining enough control to form weapons out of the water in the immediate atmosphere.
Metaru Ratto (8:38:08 PM): Zexion uses holographic emitters to create illusion. These holographic fields use focused light and radiations to contain localized matter, even forming solid 'illusions' that can cause pain and injury.

Metaru Ratto (8:40:40 PM): The plants he forms last only a few minutes because of the accelerated RNA development, but they're modified to serve as weapons, forming stalks that reach for heat and movement via thorn 'bristles' that register changes in the immediate area through air displacement.
Metaru Ratto (8:41:01 PM): They ignore him because of his unique thermal registry.
Metaru Ratto (8:42:13 PM): He uses a scythe he crafted out of a ruptured bulkhead and a steel coolant rod as a fallback, because his own power might not be of use in certain places, like, in space.

Metaru Ratto (8:51:43 PM): The distances covered are not great, but they are usually enough to transport them to a ship.
Metaru Ratto (8:52:03 PM): Since they have no need to breathe or sleep, they can use repeated transport jumps to get to where they need.

Metaru Ratto (8:55:39 PM): The X signifies the imaginary number x, also representing the X-class Nobody's capacity for learning and evolution.
