So today I did some family researching, sorta, my sister was doing it and I looked into it further.
Apparently my family has had like 3 Generals in it, thats really cool. A General Richard M. Gano, who was a veteran of the war of 1812, another Richard Montgomery Gano, a General for the South during the Civil War (whoops), another General for the South during the Civil War, a Stephen Gano "The Butcher" Burbridge (WHOOPS), and a Roy Alexander "Red" Gano, an Admiral in the Navy during WWII and the Korean War.
Then the uhm, Son of Richard Gano and father of the other Richard Gano was a John Gano, who baptized George Washington in the Potomac River.
Finally it turns out that a woman named Allene Stone Gano Hughes, was mother of the billionaire Howard Hughes, the dude that Leonardo DiCaprio played in the movie The Aviator.
Very interesting.
