"Joseph Terry Evrard, 50, of Coquille, Oregon, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 24, 2005.
Joe was born on February 16, 1955, the son of Edward and Evelyn (Fenn) Evrard. He graduated from White Lake High School, White Lake Wisconsin, in 1973. Joe continued his education at Trans American Broadcasting and Fox Valley Technical College. He moved to Oregon and was employed by the Bureau of Land Management. Joe worked as a Surveying Technician for the BLM, with the responsibility of identifying and maintaining the boundaries of the Nation's public lands. Joe began his Federal career in 1982 as a seasonal employee with the Oregon State Office Cadastral Survey Unit. In 1989, Joe was hired by the Coos Bay District Office. He was a great advocate of technology, striving to incorporate new technology into his everyday work. Joe took an interest in GPS technology early on, and ultimately became the District specialist in resource grade GPS use.
Joe was a loving father who always made time for his daughters, the light of his life. He was a good storyteller with a ready laugh and quirky sense of humor. His philosophy was to be persistent and never give up on anything. Game day would find him sitting in front of the television watching his beloved Green Bay Packers. He did not pass judgment on others. He was a man of his word, a gentlemen and a scholar, an outdoorsman who noticed and loved life's simple pleasures. Joe was always ready with an encouraging word for those who needed it. His personal refuge was Park Creek in Coos County where he would walk, read and commune with nature. His kind and gentle ways will be missed by many.
Joe was survived by are his two daughters; Renee (Dave) Ward of Sasebo, Japan; Amanda of Eugene, Oregon; brother Eugene (Lea) of Townsend; Wisconsin; sister, Jerrie (Russell) Jacobus of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Kathleen Evrard, of Neenah, Wisconsin; two uncles, Lawrence Fenn, Townsend, Wisconsin, Byron (Midge) Fenn of Livermore, California. Also surviving are many special cousins, his Godson Nicholas Radish, numerous friends and his beloved pets Nutty and Cocktail. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and brother, James.
Service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, 210 E 3rd Street, on Sunday, August 28 at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be appreciated."
