Yay! And yes, the entire produciton underwent a transformation. Perfection was not achieved, but so many actors grew and I believe it is a play worth watching. It's a litle bit odd though, because the director's main goal was to make it looklike film, including dramaic angles and lightings meant to simulate closeups. I hope her director's note in the program says something about, otherwise watching hte production will be like watching waiting for guffman with the misconception that it is not a comedy. Not that the play has any of those themes, just that the inherent wrongness would be comparable. Overall, it's purposefully a bit melodramatic- but I think that those audience members who embrace that and get into it will enjoy themselves.

Now I really must see this. How on earth is he going to do camera angles on the stage?!

Either would be fantastic, but mattinees are sometimes lackluster. Whichever works for you will be lovely!
