Author's Note 2: Half way through and I'm hoping to finish by the end of March. I apologize for taking so long, but I'm close to finishing up a degree so I've been busy studying.

Prologue Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Two hours it had taken the older man to lose the damn cops following him and sure they had a tracker on him, but he knew Riku was the only one that probably had access to his exact location and if Riku knew better he’d keep his damn distance and let the older man do as he pleased. It wasn’t like he could get far with the blonde tailing his ass constantly. Tattooed fingers pulling the cigarette out from his pants and placing the cancer stick between his lips as he made his way inside the building that was far from elegant, but at his point in life he didn’t give a damn about living in luxury.
Within a few steps he was standing in front of his old apartment he had shared with J and without a second thought with the unlit cigarette between his lips he opened the door that was never lock and only a fool would dare to break in with the shit he had in there. Footsteps pausing for a moment when he saw the barrel of the gun and behind the trigger was no one else, but J. The older man’s eyebrow arched before smacking the gun out of the face and reaching in J’s pocket to pull out a lighter before he walked past with him without a regard for the other man.
“You still have a lot to learn J. One would be recognizing my damn footsteps from a damn stranger.” Eyes narrowed and lighting his cigarette before he tossed the lighter back at J who fumbled catching the damn thing with the gun in his hand.
“S-sorry.”
Kiyoharu simply shaking his head and walking back to his bedroom to see nothing had been touched since he had been locked away and grabbing the black duffel bag from the closet he moved to his drawer pulling out the gun that was tucked in the back of his pants and tossing a few clothes into the bag and turning around to see J standing there with a confused look on his face.
Eyes lazily watching J rub the back of his neck awkwardly and he could never understand how J got dragged into the damn world of the Yakuza. J was too damn friendly to kill and he remembered when he did kill someone ten years back the poor kid had a nervous breakdown. The only reason he joined was probably to never separate the three of them, but look at them now, so close, and yet so far apart.
“What are you doing?” The younger man crossing his arms over his chest and leaning against the door way watching the former Yakuza member throw the duffel bag over his shoulder.
“Well,” Kiyoharu taking a drag off his cigarette before exhaling the lucid smoke into the small room before brushing past J and walking back out to the living to slam the duffel bag down. “I’m ending this shit with Atsushi and Kirito once and for all. I won’t be part of family that lets money corrupt them.” Lazily walking over to the fridge and glancing down to see nothing, but alcohol and slamming the refrigerator door shut once more in annoyance at how damn hard it was to keep the place with shit he would touch.
“You’re fucking crazy, Kiyoharu. You can’t take two fucking Yakuza clans on by yourself! That’s fucking stupid.”
Kiyoharu smirking around the cigarette and letting the tip of his tongue push the cigarette to the corner of his lips. “I never said I was sane and you knew that from the beginning, besides who says I was taking them on alone?”
J’s head shooting up and looking at the older man as his face paled when he felt the eyes land on him and without giving it much thought he shook his head. “No, Kiyoharu. I refuse to help you. It would be stupid and I can’t betray Atusushi after all he has done fo-“
Words cut off and Kiyoharu didn’t even give a damn at this point pulling the gun out from the back of his pants and aiming the barrel at J, eyes narrowed and J didn’t move an inch.
“They’ve done so fucking much for you? Really J where the fuck is that damn brain of yours? I alone should be a damn example of the shit they didn’t do for me. I sacrificed twenty five fucking years to them and you know what I got? Two fucking dead parents and a daughter and let’s not forget the damn jail time. Do you really call that fucking helping you? Atsushi doesn’t give a flying fuck about your ass or any of the kyodai for that matter. He’s so fucking caught up in making profit he doesn’t give a damn about the damn origins of how the fucking Yakuza started off of.” Lowering his gun and pushing past J without a second thought and heading towards the door, but pausing when he placed his hand on the door knob quiet and he could hear the shallow breathing of both J and him taking a deep breath and stuffing the gun out of plain sight.
“Look, I’ll get Hakuei to help me. I don’t need your help if your loyalty runs deeper to them then Hakuei and me.” Moving the cigarette away from his lips and he turned back to face J with eyes lazily looking at him. “I’ll use the police to my advantage to get Hakuei out and we will bring down Kirito and Atsushi.” Cigarette in hand and his thumb rubbing between his brows in annoyance as he took another drag off his cigarette and eyes made contact with J’s. “It’s just a shame that you are going to let the Yakuza tear you away from your true friends, but revenge runs deeper than bonds shared between men.” Smirking around his cigarette and laughing softly as he flicked the cigarette on the floor and pressed the tip of his shoe onto the cigarette before shrugging his shoulders and throwing the duffel bag back over his shoulders. The older man taking one last glance at J and he simply shook his head as he mumbled his words loud enough for the younger man to hear. “The next time we meet one of us is going to die.” Kiyoharu exiting the apartment without a second thought and leaving J stunned and confused.
~~~~~~
The sun was finally setting before he made it back to the apartment and of course to Kiyoharu’s damn luck Riku was sitting on the couch waiting for him like some kid who had broken curfew. Barely in the doorway before he had the blonde in his face and bitching at him like a damn child.
“Where the hell have you been? Do you know how long I waited around? I was just about to go out looking for you!”
“Damn, I feel like this is the life I missed out on as a teenager and I’m pretty damn thankful, but don’t get your damn panties in a twist. I just needed some time to think.” Kiyoharu walking past the blonde cop who had his arms crossed over his chest like a child and
eyes narrowed and he could feel the eyes following him as he headed down the hallway with the duffel bag still over his shoulders and he heard the footsteps following after him in haste.
“Mori, where the hell do you think you’re going?”
“To your bedroom where no man or woman will ever see with how big of a bitch you are, but I guess I feel pretty damn special.” Opening the door to the bedroom and tossing the duffel bag on the floor as he moved to the bed and pulled the laptop in his lap. The weight on the bed shifting as eyes lazily glanced up to see Riku already making a move for the damn laptop as he lazily shoved a cigarette between his lips and lit it.
“You want me to help you and the police bring down the Yakuza don’t you?”
“What do you mean?” Eyebrow rose at the older man in curiosity just to see where this was going and whether he could use the older man to his advantage like Kisaki had originally planned.
“To bring down the Yakuza, of course.” Voice strained and his body tensed before he exhaled the lucid smoke into Riku’s face without a regard as he smiled around the cigarette and clicking a few buttons before pulling up four files, Atsushi, Kirito, Jun, and Hakuei’s.
Fingers tapping the mouse pad and bringing up Hakuei’s file on the main screen and turning the laptop around to face Riku as he leaned against the headboard of the bed moving the cigarette away from his lips. “On one condition of course…”
Riku hesitantly staring at the screen to see Kiyoharu’s friend who he socialized with quite a bit when he was behind bars and he understood where this was going as eyes narrowed and he slammed the laptop down in annoyance. “No! First of all, I refuse to let a coke head out. Second of all, I don’t have that kind of power.”
The older man staying quiet before he rose from his spot on the bed moving to where the blonde was as he pushed the smaller cop down on the mattress and his hand with the cigarette between his index and middle finger now resting beside Riku’s head as eyes lazily stared down at Riku not saying a word at first as he lowered his head with a smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. The older man’s lip’s inches away from Riku’s and he could feel the blonde’s chest rising and falling at a quick rate and his face red, nervous? “I’m sure you can work something out, Riku. You and Kisaki are pretty damn close after all. You seem pretty good at sucking up to him.”
Moving the cigarette from his hand on the mattress and in between his lips taking another long drag before moving the cigarette from his lips watching Riku watch him with such nervousness. And he wasn’t into men? That was a damn lie. The smile on his lips growing bigger and he could feel Riku’s heart beat pounding with how damn quiet the other was. Kiyoharu leaning closer and his lips only a few centimeters away before he exhaled the cigarette smoke into Riku’s face pulling away as shook his head in disappointment. “You shouldn’t fall for a criminal like me, babe.”
Riku’s eyes narrowing and once he had control and the damn heavy bastard off of him he kicked Kiyoharu off the bed leaning over the bed before grabbing a pillow and throwing it as hard as he could at the man on the floor. “I am not fucking falling for your dumbass. What else was I suppose to do? Beg for you to kiss me?” Riku moving off the bed and kicking the man in the stomach when he saw the grin grow bigger and he wished he could have killed the bastard for laying on his floor with such a smug look.
“Don’t ever do that again!”
“I don’t know you seemed to like it.” Eyes lazily watching as Riku jerked the laptop back into his lap once he had made himself comfortable and Kiyoharu pulling himself off the floor and back onto the bed as he laid sprawled out on the mattress. “But, I think you do like me. Why else would you volunteer your place for me to stay? Only an idiot would be stupid enough to let the criminal they locked away to live with them.”
“I did not! So shut the fuck up! I don’t even know why I was put in charge of your case. You’re going to fucking kill me from the stress.” Fingers typing angrily and trying to find some outlet for his stress that the man was putting him through and he was starting to question Kisaki’s choice and thought of putting him in charge of Kiyoharu. Why not someone he could kill if they irritated him too much? Thoughts broken as he felt eyes watching him and he could feel the bastard grinning around his cigarette and kicking him in annoyance.
“Stop it! I see you grinning like an idiot! Can’t you go get shot or something?”
The older man moving back over to where Riku was and letting his hand run up Riku’s thigh with the cigarette still between his lips as grabbed Riku’s leg watching the laptop fall onto the bed as he pulled the blonde back under him. Eyes lazily staring down at Riku and letting his fingers run over Riku’s lips and he could see that Riku was starting to get use to him teasing him like this because the look on the blonde’s face was far from fear, but more anger instead.
“I think you put up with me because you’re a masochist and enjoy shit like this.”
“I do no-“ Riku immediately gasping when he felt the hand that was on his thigh now grabbing him through the pants and feeling the hands carefully rub him through the thin fabric. Riku closing his eyes shut and face red from embarrassment as he bit down on his bottom lip to hold back the moan as hips pushed up into the hand despite not wanting too.
“No, you do.” Fingers carefully working the blonde through his pants and he could feel Riku growing aroused whether he wanted to admit it or not and Kiyoharu knew he was taking the risk with how little control Riku had over his anger, but he was a risk taker. The tip of his tongue pushing the cigarette to the corner of his mouth and leaning down to Riku as he smiled around the cigarette more amused than anything else. “You just don’t want to admit it because I’m not Kisaki is that it?”
And that was wrong thing to say to say the blonde. Eyes narrowed and using all the strength he could he pushed the bastard off of him and onto the floor grabbing the last pillow on the bed and throwing it at Kiyoharu once again. “You bastard! Don’t ever speak about Kisaki like that again! I’d never sleep with you, ever!” Cheeks flushed from both arousal and embarrassment as he moved off the bed and out of the bedroom slamming the door behind him shut.
The older man still on the floor for the second time that night as he took a drag off his cigarette and exhaled the cigarette smoke out his nostrils and towards the ceiling with eyes closed. “I am making progress.” Slowly leaning up off the floor and snuffing the cigarette out in the ash tray on the night stand as he grabbed the pillows off the floor and tossed them on the bed. He knew Riku wasn’t a damn idiot and Hakuei would be out in the morning. Kisaki would be a fool to not agree to the few things he was asking for if he wanted him to help bring down Atsushi.
Moving to lay on the bed and he figured for once he’d have a damn bed to sleep in since Riku was too damn angry and flustered to come fight for his bed and kick him back out to the living room. Like hell he was complaining, but to his luck the moment his back hit the mattress the door was slammed back open and the pillow jerked out from under him as eyes lazily glanced up at Riku in confusion. “What? I thought we would trade or did you come to cuddle with me?”
“No, you sick bastard. There is no way in hell I am sleeping on the couch. This is my bedroom so get the hell out before your ass is back on the floor again.”
The older man lazily rolling to the side of the bed and pushing himself off the mattress as he moved to the bedroom door, but stopping when he came up to Riku. Leaning down to Riku’s ear and his hand back over the obvious tent in Riku’s pants and teasingly rubbing his hand over the clothed arousal. “Well, if you want to finish what we started. You’re always welcome to the couch.”
“No, you fucking pervert there is nothing to finish!”
Smirk on Kiyoharu’s lips as he felt the fist in his stomach and he showed no signs on his face of pain whatsoever, instead he walked out of bedroom and shoving his hands in his pants when the door was slammed behind him.
