Title: The lady's not for burning
Characters: Mayuri/Retsu
Rating: G
Summary: Retsu knows she's selfish as any woman
Genre: General
Note: Written for laerkstrein for the 100wordstories prompt "dangerous"

There is danger in the very flutter of his eyelids. Retsu ignores it, or does the best she can at ignoring it, because there is good in everyone, she thinks, hopes, wishes. When her hands curl around his cheek in a please-for-me-just-once beg, she knows the danger in it. But she wants, she wants, she wants, the shape of her name on his lips, pressed against her throat, more a beast than a man. Retsu knows she's selfish as any woman, that she holds the apple within her hands, and tempts danger (Mayuri) and hope (herself) into the far-reaching abyss.

Title: Clinging close
Characters: Byakuya/Hisana
Rating: G
Summary: He looks for her in the ashes.
Genre: General
Note: Written for
100wordstories prompt was "fog"

When the fog clings close and lovingly to him, Byakuya knows it’s her. He knows it like his own bones, the stars in the night sky when everything is too long and dark for sleep. He looks for her in the page-ends of books, in the mirrors he put away after her death. He looks for her in the ashes of his long burnt-out heart, one he denies having, because denial is easier than acceptance. Byakuya knows the fog is her hands and her hair and her lips - pressed against his throat in a way she never did in life.
