This is always an outstanding point to me, concerning Uryuu's character. In essence, he is the perfect hero; the prince, the knight in shining armor. But Ichigo gets to be that hero and steals the light away. He'll be pushed aside and labeled for something he actually doesn't deserve. I hate how Orihime has no idea about Uryuu's feelings, but can sense when Ichigo is in a good/bad mood. BOTHERS me.
So he was reflecting on how horrible it would be to die at that moment with all the regrets he had in his life as the monster was bearing down on him when he saw a flash of black and then bright sunlight where the monster had been looming.
I'm so jealous of how you make a tone flow so nicely within one sentence. And I loved the part where Uryuu couldn't stop the laughter spilling out of his mouth; it ( ... )

I've never really been an ichiRuki shipper, but what they've got is strong, to an extent. I honestly believed that that much time apart would lead to at least one of them having changed feelings. So I didn't want to lessen that bond at all, but show like you said, that there was something that used to be there that isn't.
And I'm so really glad you liked it. I love long comments, I really do.

lol, I'm one of those people who think relationships like Ichigo and Rukia's can't change. Whether it turns romantic or not, Kubo has shown the bond will stay. I'd like to think that's what love is about--keeping that string of friendship, no matter which way it turns.
