He wasn't the hero. Kurosaki was the hero, as always, and it rankled at him. [...] He knew this because Inoue still pined after him. In her eyes, Ichigo was still The One Who Rescued Me and he, himself, was simply The One Who Helped.

This is always an outstanding point to me, concerning Uryuu's character. In essence, he is the perfect hero; the prince, the knight in shining armor. But Ichigo gets to be that hero and steals the light away. He'll be pushed aside and labeled for something he actually doesn't deserve. I hate how Orihime has no idea about Uryuu's feelings, but can sense when Ichigo is in a good/bad mood. BOTHERS me.

So he was reflecting on how horrible it would be to die at that moment with all the regrets he had in his life as the monster was bearing down on him when he saw a flash of black and then bright sunlight where the monster had been looming.

I'm so jealous of how you make a tone flow so nicely within one sentence. And I loved the part where Uryuu couldn't stop the laughter spilling out of his mouth; it ( ... )

I love Orihime, but as that one recent panel showed, she has Kurosaki-kun goggles on 24/7. I wish she'd get over it, you know?

I've never really been an ichiRuki shipper, but what they've got is strong, to an extent. I honestly believed that that much time apart would lead to at least one of them having changed feelings. So I didn't want to lessen that bond at all, but show like you said, that there was something that used to be there that isn't.

And I'm so really glad you liked it. I love long comments, I really do.

As much as I hate her little fantasies, you gotta love the comedy that goes with it. XD But I really wish she'd begin to get serious about things. She was abducted, saw her friend die and acts the same, if not more airy. I like a sensible Orihime; though it seems like she's been traumatized into not growing in character.

lol, I'm one of those people who think relationships like Ichigo and Rukia's can't change. Whether it turns romantic or not, Kubo has shown the bond will stay. I'd like to think that's what love is about--keeping that string of friendship, no matter which way it turns.

I just might. I really kind of want to write something where Ichigo up and realizes that they've got something going on and he's kind of scratching his head, wondering how it came about. Maybe a sequel, maybe not.
