From a cell on the third floor.death_is_holyMay 4 2008, 05:09:46 UTC
First it was peaceful, or as peaceful as it could be for this town. Then the smell of rotting flesh invaded the senses, and that feeling of peace was ripped away by the smell of metaphoric war. Alessa slowly opened her eyes and took in her surroundings. She gasped in horror when she realized where she was.
The water prison.
Her mother had told her stories about this place. In fact her mother used to tell her that she had it easy, because she never had to visit this horrid place. Often this was said while Alessa was being beaten by Dahlia.
Now she was in a cell. The walls were covered in mold, mildew, and various bodily fluids in certain locations. The sink was brown from rust stains, and the faucet was completely rusted over. The bed, or what served as a bed was really just a cold slap of concrete with nothing for a cushion or warmth. On the walls were a few leeches, glistening and shining. Alessa walked to the door, tried opening it. It wouldn't budge.
The smell was horrid, and it was making Alessa sick. She wanted to vomit, but adding to the filth wouldn't be a good idea. The woman tried not to panic.
I still have my powers. Alessa thought to herself.
Just to make sure she stared intensely at one of the slugs. The creature shrivled, lost it's grip on the wall, and fell to the floor with a loud disgusting SPLORT!
In the neighboring cell, a certain blonde Nobody slowly approached wakefulness; some part of her subconscious was trying desperately hard to hold onto peaceful oblivion, but it was an ill-fated struggle. She blinked in a way that was almost angry, and shook her head violently, to clear away the last of the mental cobwebs.
Exactly when had she fallen asleep? And why? And how was she now... in this place, wherever it was?
Answers. She needed answers. And, perhaps as pressing, she needed something to hurt. To maim. To kill. She needed to relieve the growing frustration that she shouldn't have been able to feel; true, Nobodies tended to cling to sources of emotion, no matter what the emotion, but... well. There were always exceptions.
She stood, and in so doing, very nearly slipped on a... slug... leech... thing. Well, squishing it didn't have anywhere near the same effect as tearing the flesh off of a sentient creature, but... it would have to do.
She moved immediately to the door, and flung it open, snarling into the gloom of the corridor beyond. Just what the hell was this place?
Alessa was watching through the tiny window and just so happened to hear from the neighboring cell a door being flung opened. So, somebody had gotten out, huh? Alessa reached to the door knob and went to turn it.
It didn't budge.
Alessa's right fist started to glow, and that ethereal glow grew until she was holding a ball of light in her hand. She hurled it towards the door. The force caused the door knob to melt away a bit, but it did succeed in making the door open a bit. Alessa kicked it open the rest of the way, and stepped out into hall.
Larxene's attention was drawn immediately to the now-sundered door, as it flew open from the force of Alessa's kick. She drew her kunai - and she had but one, at this point - and glare at the shaded archway, until...
...an unassuming-looking girl stepped out.
"Tch," she muttered, putting the kunai away. She was far too high-strung. Whatever. Either this kid would be a useful tool... or she'd get skinned. Either one was fine by the Savage Nymph, really. Two equally pressing needs, and one would be fulfilled.
"And just who are you?" she asked, voice obviously scornful.
Alessa looked at the other woman dully, and hazily. Alessa didn't have to use her powers to figure out that this woman probably wasn't the nicest passenger in this wonderful car ride known as Hell. Alessa figured that either she could help this woman, or just let her rot.
Well, she hadn't actually done anything yet. Alessa decided to play nice for now.
Larxene regarded Alessa skeptically, annoyed at her tone (though she couldn't quite put her finger on the reason); after a moment, an iota of venom left her gaze. "Larxene," she responded, voice silky and dangerous.
Though she was usually one for circumlocution, the Nobody decided that this was not the time for messing around. "What do you know about this place, Alessa? What the hell is going on here?"
There was something about this woman that Alessa didn't feel comfortable with, but she wasn't sure what it was. She wasn't in the mood to find out either. That could wait. Alessa took a look around the circular hallway trying to remember something about this prison. Her brows furrowed at the lack of first hand knowledge about this place. All she had heard were rumors.
Well, there was that rumor about bodies being tossed down holes. Alessa turned to Larxene, and finally answered her, "There's no time to discuss this place, we need to get out of here,"
She could have probably been able to teleport out of there, but a good part of Alessa wanted to stay and see how everyone else would handle this place. Alessa sighed, and leaned against the wall. Her head bowed forward, and her eyes shut. Less than a minute later her eyes opened quickly.
"Some of the rooms in this prison have holes in them, there should be a way to line up all the holes," Alessa sort of trailed off.
Larxene regarded Alessa skeptically, as she closed her eyes; was she... trying to take a nap? Was this girl retarded or something?
...whatever. The Savage Nymph had better things to be doing with her time. ...sort of. She pulled out the communicator she had discovered earlier, and spotted a rather intriguing new message. By the time Alessa emerged from her reverie, the Nobody had decided on her next course of action.
"...you're slow with the information, girly. It looks like a friend of mine found the device that moves them," she effortlessly lied, without missing a beat. "He's somewhere below us." There, that ought to convince the sheep to go her way. If not... well. A shield was nice, but hardly necessary.
Alessa sighed in disgust. A part of her wanted to follow this woman, but her gut instincts were telling her not to go with this woman. The black haired girl glared, and then answered coldly, "Then make your own way out,"
Alessa closed her eyes, and focused on one of the rooms with a hole inside, and then she faded away.
When she opened her eyes she was back inside one of the rooms. She didn't really want to be there, but she wasn't about to be insulted by someone. She had been insulted enough as a little girl. Alessa walked around the room, and headed towards the peephole.

Okay, that power still works
She stood by the door.

Too high.
