The Commoner
You scored a 140 out of 400 on language knowledge.
Well done, you scored about what would be expected for someone who has
not studied a cultural or linguistic science. You have basic knowledge
about most major languages and you may even know somethings about
lesser known languages. You may even speak a second language. However,
there is still plenty more to find out about the world, don't give up
traveling.
My test tracked 1 variable How you compared to other people your age and gender:
You scored higher than 99% on knowledge

32-Type Dating Test Personally, I would love to see the answer key for that one. I may not know much about languages, but I sure am curious about them.

prettyannamoon did some research and has posted the answers in the comments! Yay!
And another one:
Look at your LJ userpics list. If you have fewer than 50 icons, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five icons, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five icons, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly why you have it, why it's interesting to you, what significance does it have.
Because, as
vanceone so recently put it: And really, I'm always amazed at the "When Angua speaks, the time for OBHWF thought is over--we just endorse what she says" attitude I find expressed so often and By the way, when did you become Angua's lapdog, Peaches? (I actually expect you'll take that as a compliment, and I'll see icons from it... *sigh*). He knows us so well, doesn't he?
I realized early on that I needed HP avatars that weren't especially shippy. This is one of the first non-shippy HP pics I chose, but
buongiornodaisy's "Intelligence is Beautiful" is my favorite, and the one I use most.
I gave a full explanation of this icon at the time it was created
here. The short version is this: during the years before Roe v. Wade, NARAL significantly fudged the numbers of how many women were dying from botched illegal abortions in order to gain support for their cause. I used an old anti-war slogan to capture my feelings about what NARAL did, and had a friend iconize it for me.
I saw one too many utterly unfunny jokes generated in H/Hr comms--back in the day when I used to lurk at their hangouts--and someone compared them to the pathetically humor-challenged Lt. Hauk in Good Morning, Vietnam. Then someone iconized it, and I gacked it. In fairness, plenty of H/Hrs have a perfectly intact sense of humor, and I find them funny even when they are making fun of my ship. It's just that it seemed for a while that certain--often rather young--followers of that ship had a tendency to try too hard or something, and they reminded me of Hauk. I don't use anti-H/Hr icons very often any more, but I did have occasion to use this one recently when the actor who played Hauk passed away. :(
This is one of my favorite icons. When I was in college, I spent a great deal of my time engaging in semi-impromptu praise and worship sessions in the both visually and acoustically gorgeous chapel at my school. These took place late at night and were dubbed “midnight worship” by the participants-who included some of my dearest friends ever. The memory of those nights is both bittersweet and unspeakably precious to me. I saw this icon in a Christian icon comm and I thought it captured the essence of those memories and feelings so well I had to have it. “He give us songs,” indeed, for “every good and perfect gift” is from Him. I use it for posts/comments that relate to both music and to spirituality, and certainly for posts/comments that relate to both.
I love Star Wars, and I love romance. Voila!
One of my most delighted moments when reading HBP for the first time was pages 623 to 624 (US Ed), where the quote above comes from. Now before anyone-especially R/T haters-gets on my case, I had already guessed that Dumbledore was going to die before reading the book, and while I was sad about it, I couldn’t be too terribly shocked-certainly not to the point that I couldn’t enjoy a nice romantic moment. R/T, on the other hand, was a complete surprise to me, and a very, very pleasant one. I have to agree with McG on this one: Albus would have approved.
Aw! My first Fruits Basket icon. I love the “Kyo’s True Form” storyline-it is my favorite part of the whole series. I especially like that Kyo--who had so ardently protested being carried home in the rain just a little earlier--at the climax of this storyline deliberately hugs Tohru and then allows himself to be carried in cat form. *melts* The text added by the iconmaker seemed appropriate, too.
That’s me cosplaying Sango from Inuyasha. Cosplay is so much fun, and I wanted to show off my look.
I’ve been trying to collect icons lately that are both fannish, and fulfill a specific purpose. This Yuki icon is good for expressing regret or sympathy.
This is an utterly appropriate icon for Shigure and Ayame, who so enjoy getting a rise out of Kyo and Yuki. *loves them* It’s also a good alternative to my Harry/Ginny “Laughter is good for the soul” icon, especially when the humor at hand is on the edgy side.
This fulfills the roles of 1) an icon for happy and friendly posts/comments, and 2) spreading the Kagura love.
Oops! I started doing this without realizing that my number of userpics had finally crept past 50, so I was already counting by fives before I knew better, and as a result I have 12 icons instead of ten. Ah well. So you had to read a few more lines of my rambling. :P
In other news, Oklahoma is now half done (one weekend down, and one to go), and I'm pretty tired. The following two weekends I'm in yet another play--The Legend of Robin Hood, Sort Of. I'm the Assistant Director, which is a lot of fun, but I'm also going to have a little cameo as a lady-in-waiting to Maid Marian.
I still plan to write up the rest of my stories about the end of summer--AFO, cosplaying, NYC, JKR, etc. But it may not happen for another couple of weeks. I got pics of AFO from one of my friends yesterday and they are really good. I can't wait to share them. But...not tonight.
