Seriously, what do I have to do? I get interviews for crappy jobs, so presumably they don't care that I am over-qualified, but a few days later I get a letter which may as well start "Dear John...". I am not going to try and take the managers job, if they pay ok and conditions aren't too bad then they will have a more than competent employee for ( Read more... )

Well, I've been going for a few things. The two promising ones recently have been the ROE one (which I may have been under-qualified for, as I haven't worked much with children) and the opticians one (which I was over-qualified for, but they didn't seem to mind at the time). There are some other things in the pipeline, but it will take time, even if I get them, time I don't have. Put simply, I have about £30 until someone pays me and rent is due at the start of next month; I will get some job-seekers allowance at some point, but it won't even cover the rent.

I'm going out when my hair is dry, to try and find something. I may need to print some more cv's.

Thanks (whoever you are). I do know about that, unfortunately they are about three months behind on the claims, apparently. Thanks anyway though.

Try for it anyway. I know other people who were messed around for months, but they paid back as far as the initial application. Don't talk yourself out of options before you've tried them.

Yeah, I could do with the money now, but I suppose it would still be useful in a few months, even if I have a job by then.
