[The princess has stepped out. Leave a message.]

You called, Hero?

Likewise. Were you looking for something in particular, or simply me?

Were you listening the other day when I talked to Zelda? I was just looking to spend some time with you. Although if I could get the frog Zelda wanted to give me, that would be good too.

I can bring that to you. She doesn't need to 'pop out' for that. Sound like a plan?

I'll come to your room. Stay put.

[He means it, man.]

[Link shuts off his communicator in understanding, and then looks up and around at his room. Hmm, he guesses he should just wait until Sheik arrives, then. They'll probably just talk here in his room, or something. Maybe get food. Link doesn't care, he just wants to spend some time with his mysterious friend.

He sets the communicator down and gets up off his bed. Well, if they're going to go somewhere, he should put his shoes on... Since he'd lazily kicked them off after coming back to his room from the forest, he circles his bed to collect them and put them on.

... Well, Zelda can see him too, even if Sheik is out right now, right? Maybe he should comb his hair ...]

[Sheik's quick. He always has been, likely always will be. Staying in one place for too long is unnerving and a danger not only to himself, but also to the princess. It's essential that she manages to stay out of trouble, even with the number of people aboard who look after her.

He still wants to be number one, even above her significant other.

Sheik knows well enough where Link is staying. Even if he didn't, he could probably sniff him out. Not everyone smells like the Hero of Time. He knocks, a stiff motion, even for him. He didn't get a chance to see the other Hero. For Sheik, this is entirely different than seeing the other one in his youthful state.]

[Link's just putting his hat back on as Sheik knocks. He managed to get presentable before he got here, that was fortunate.

The door opens and Link's face brightens at the sight of the Sheikah. Thankfully for Sheik, he doesn't follow his impulse and give him a hug, and just stands there respectfully.]

Sheik! It's so good to see you!

[It's a little odd to be faced with him, or to face him as the case might be. There's something pleasant about it, though; like seeing a very old friend that one hasn't seen in ages.

He's quiet, his expression hardly changing, but he's happy to see Link--if happy can be considered the right word. With his right hand he lifts a golden frog in his palm.]

I mirror the sentiments, Hero. You look well. I have brought for you a gift.

[Link glances at the frog, and then reaches out to take the little creature from him carefully. His pockets are a good enough (and roomy enough) place for it to go, so he places it inside one gently.]

Thanks. Hopefully this extra one can help us work out what's going on here.

[With that done, he looks his friend over, the smile stuck on his face.]

So, uum... you can come in if you want. Or I thought maybe we could go get food. Either is okay with me, I just feel like I want to talk to you.

[He waves off the gratitude. Words like that have no place with him. The world will keep moving whether thankful gestures are given or not. Sheik turns briefly to cast a glance around. He hasn't heard a peep from Meth since he left her at the infirmary. She never even came to see him when he was in the brig, and perhaps that was for the better.]

We can go wherever you'd like. If you are hungry, I'm sure you might find something of interest at the Kuma-ko. If you wish to stroll, we can do that as well. You could say I am at your compassion; just for now.

You don't mind where we go at all?

[Link would prefer they decide together; he hates supposing what others would want to do. If only he knew anything about Sheik's scuffle with Meth, he'd be happy to just stay here, but he doesn't.

Looking at the ground for a moment in thought, he makes a quick decision with a slight nod.]

Why don't we go for a walk? Maybe you can show me your favorite spot on the ship or something.

My favorite spot on the ship.

[Sheik says it with a curious tone, as though he's not sure if he can have a favorite anything. Things are just things, after all. Sometimes he prefers it when he doesn't choose something or someone to be attached to.

After all, it can't be fair for anyone on the receiving end.]

Let us grab something from Kuma-ko first and then I will take you to the caves.

[Sheik can easily take the initiative. Most of the time.]

Caves...

[Link can't say he could have predicted something like that as Sheik's favorite spot, but he gives a pleasant nod and follows him to the Kuma-ko. The Hero is mostly oblivious to Sheik's inner thoughts, although he does get some sense of Sheik's general attitude of apathy towards everything and everyone other than the Princess and perhaps Link himself. But he doesn't hold it against him - Link just knows that's the person he is.

He walks at the Sheikah's side, the shield on his back clanking gently with each step.]

So... four months, you and Zelda have been here...
