I am a concubine to a great king. I have no rights of my
own, and I live to serve only my King. Or so, I believed until I met the Invisible Mr. Grubber.

Mr. Grubber came to me in my sleep one night, and I dreamed
that he rescued me from my chains of servitude, and we rode off into the night
on the back of a white horse. He was
dashing, charming, and knew just how to speak to me. I was convinced that this
man would save me, so much so that the next morning, I defied my King.

When I woke his majesty from his slumber, I slipped some
strong poison in his morning wine, and waited. When the King was slouched over
dead, I quickly gathered my things, and ran into the desert. I waited on the
back of one of the King’s horses for Mr. Grubber to come. I waited for hours,
until night fell, but I never saw him, or sensed him. I began to cry. What had I
done? Where was my freedom now? He had lied.
