Tech help question
I'm not sure if anyone here has run into this issue or may be able to help me find an answer. I've tried searching but I don't seem to be using the right words in search engines or something.
Problem: My mother still uses dial-up. Sometimes when she turns on her computer, if the phone line is hooked up, she'll get a beep-ring sound on her phone. Sometimes this will make the line busy and sometimes not. Sometimes when she goes to connect, it won't connect up and the phone line will stay busy until you unplug the line from the back of her modem. It was all working fine and just suddenly all went flaky at once.
I figured with all the geeks I had on my friends list, someone might know of a solution. I've recreated the connection and reset the TCP/IP but those didn't help.
