The whole day revolved around the fact the missionaries were coming over to dinner. This was cleaning like a madwoman day. Cleaning like a woman who is mad.
This is the after Christmas cleanup you get when you have a dog and a real tree. (Me and my broom leg.)
This is whats left of the Christmas tree after I attacked it. I clipped off all the branches to use in the fireplace. Not quite as exciting as Leigh's (
minnesotamule ) Yearly Christmas tree burn but I do what I can.
I did get to go out to lunch with Aaron. That was a treat. Driving out there was a little nostalgic. How odd its been like 4 months now. Gah I'm so depressed. Anyway lunch with Aaron back staring at the good ol' Jiggles. ;) It doesn't open until 3 so don't get your hopes up. I love our conversations.
Sadly I did not get the stew in the croc until much too late for dinner. (Potatoes, Beef chunks, Onions, Baby Carrots, Brown Gravy Mix, Seasoning, and water.) I checked on it a half an hour before dinner and the potatoes and carrots were still too hard. *Sigh* So Aaron picked up a couple of pizza's and the missionaries and we all got to eat not-so-hot pizza to the smell of delicious not-so-done stew. The best part ever was when Elder Anderson said I'm from a little town in Utah called Mona. Aaron and I grinned at each other and said "Mona!" Just like Tony Danza in Who's the Boss. The sad moment came next when neither Elder (Naito or Anderson) had heard of the TV show Who's the Boss. They really are 10 years younger than us and we really are that nearly 30 year old couple in the ward. (Although they said it was nice to visit with "younger" people in the ward.) Huge reality age check. WHO'S THE BOSS! Come on! I can't be the older person talking about TV shows that younger people don't know. Oh well.
The background story on the city of Mona (As I would tell Mom later.) is the morning of our wedding Aaron and I drove down to Manti together and on the way we were having hilarious conversations (Which totally eliminated any Wedding Day Jitters.) and we see the road sign that says "Mona." Aaron starts talking just like Tony Danza saying "Mona, Samantha, Angela." Then we start talking about Tony Danza and what he's up to nowadays. Later at our reception Aaron asks Tony Toscano (Movie Critic
www.youtube.com/talkingpicturestv) what Tony Danza is doing now and Tony Toscano says "Now thats an interesting question to be asking on your wedding day." We still talk about that story all the time.
We went over to Karol's (Aaron's Dad) and I got to use his steam cleaner. So cool. As they geeked out in front of the computer I got to talk briefly with Tara and more than an hour with my Mom. (Yeah Mom!) She's so cute. I miss her. I always seem to call her right before bed time. Why is that?
Aaron did finally confess that he thought we really should audio record our conversations in the car because we are hilarious.
