Phantom storyline.
Woohyun does not need fame, and he definitely does not need love. Wealth is all he wanted, and wealth is what he will get. The life of being a thief is thrilling, adrenaline flowing through his bloodstream. That feeling, gives him excitement, he loved it. Words of his every single flaw free stunts gained him fame. People coined him, the master thief as the Phantom. Even though Woohyun doen not even care about fame, he would still deliberately leave his own signature card behind, a sign that the Phantom was here.
His wealth piled up quickly with each successful act, and soon he was able to get his own airship, Lumiere, french for light, and making it his very own mobile hideout. He hired a crew for his own airship, whom from there helped him achieve greater results.
Sunggyu and Sungjong, his two servants, always did an excellent job on keeping the lumiere spick and span.Though the two does not get along well, they managed to do a perfect job each time (as they compete each other to see who is better). Woohyun’s intelligence team consists of Dongwoo and Myungsoo, who helps him construct or refine his next plan. Dongwoo always come up with weird plans, but they always seem to work perfectly. On the other hand, Myungsoo is always able to come up with last minute plans if Woohyun somehow screwed up. With Hoya as the captain of Lumiere, his sense of direction and calm composure often save Woohyun in dire situations.
Lastly, his most trustworthy butler, Sungyeol, the one who taught him the art of thieving back when he just started out. Sungyeol may had been a master thief once, but he stopped after his heart was stolen by one of his targets. This is the reason why Woohyun is determined he will not let his heart stolen. He wants the wealth and thrill from this path he has taken up, and he does not want to give up just like Sungyeol.
When Woohyun picked up that the Skaia, a precious jewel that is connected to the powers of Empress Aria of Ereve, he is determined to get it. It seemed like an easy job, well, if Woohyun does not have a heart, if he was not human, then it would be.
The first time Woohyun met Aria, he felt something he never felt before. His heart started thumping, blood rushed up to his face, flushing it pink. He never knew that the feeling of love was this overwhelming. He never knew he would love someone. He never knew his determination can be this weak.
The plan Woohyun was supposed to carry out was to get the Skaia while Aria was asleep. But it seems that Woohyun decided to make a detour. Instead he tried to forge a friendship with her, getting closer to Aria day by day. Day after day, Woohyun only managed to fall deeper and deeper into love.
As they say, love is not one sided.
Aria found Woohyun’s every entice charming. Day by day, Aria also fell deeper and deeper into love. Their new found friendship took on a romantic side, and Woohyun has lost all determination to get the Skaia. He ended up asking Aria for the Skaia every time they meet, and she only found it to be amusing, and declines it.
Skaia was no longer on the top of his list of what to steal (but at the very bottom), instead, it was replaced with Aria’s heart.
As much as Aria dislikes what Woohyun is doing, stealing from others, she just cannot seem to make herself dislike the male himself. After all, love is blind.
Woohyun would appear every night at the courtyard just to chat with Aria. That day was no difference, ever so ready to charm the lady.
“Milady, will it be today where I can have the Skaia?” Woohyun asked, as Aria approached him.
“You are as persistent as always, but it’s still a no.” She turned to look up at the sky before continuing. “The meeting with the Black Mage’s commander will be held here in Ereve tomorrow, and I just...” She gave out a sigh, “hope everything will be alright.”
“If you keep making such depressed faces, you will age faster milady.” Woohyun took out one of his cards, and with flick of his wrists, it turned into a rose, surprising Aria as he handed it to her. “You look the most beautiful when you smile.”
The next night came, and the sight that Woohyun sees, left him in a daze.
Aria’s body, lying on Shinsoo’s feathers, pale, cold, and lifeless.
He slowly took a step forward, and another. Droplets of rain started falling, his face covered in a mix of rain and tears.
“Lady Aria said she wanted to give you something,” Shinsoo told Woohyun, “the Skaia. She said you wanted it very much.”
“NO! I DON’T WANT THE SKAIA. I WANT ARIA BACK!” He cried, the howling wind and heavy pitter patter of the rain drowning his voice out. “The world she believed in isn't dead yet. I won't let anyone bury her dreams!”
It was only until the rain stopped that Woohyun stopped crying. “Who did this to Aria?”
“The Black Mage’s commander, Ninomiya.” Shinsoo replied.
As much as revenge was on his mind, Woohyun wanted Aria back more than revenge. The Black Mage can wait, but not his broken heart.
As soon as he returned to the Lumiere, he immediately went to his intelligence team to find out the answers to his questions. Of course, his team did not fail him as they presented him with detailed answers that he needed.
He made Hoya head towards Ellinia, he has someone important to meet there, Masuda the Time Keeper.
Masuda the Time Keeper looks totally different from what Woohyun had imagined. He does not have that ‘old man wizard’ look, but of a male in his late teen years, chubby face and a mop of fluffy red hair. Plus asking him for a favour is easy, all Woohyun needed was the best gyoza recipe in the universe. With that, Masuda the Time Keeper opened a portal with just a snap of his fingers, and Woohyun stepped through.
The first thing he did was to check the date on the calendar, and indeed, Woohyun had travelled back in time, to the day Aria was assassinated. He looked around, he was in his own room in the Lumiere. He have to act quickly, there will not be a second chance.
The first thing he saw when he reached Ereve, was Ninomiya about to kill Aria. His mind reacted fast, his arms reaching into his pockets to throw out his cards. It did not kill Ninomiya, but it did injure him badly. Ninomiya fled the scene quickly, his life was more important to him than completing the mission.
Aria’s life is saved.
History is changed.
However, that did not stop Woohyun from joining the heroes, in an attempt to protect Maple World, the world that Aria loved.
