Done with Finals
FINALS
That was an insane two weeks. Like, I hope I never have to do that again. Next quarter I am going to start working EARLY. I was in a bad temper, I procrastinated, I did things half as well as I wanted...It all got done and well enough, but it shouldn't have been that bad.
SELF-CONSCIOUS
Worst part of being stressed and hurried is that I get really self-conscious, I just assume I am making everyone feel awkward (because I felt awkward). Which makes sense, awkward people make people feel awkward. Still, I just have to trust I didn't bug people too much. Everyone get's weird during finals week and I think people understand. If not, oh well, no ones perfect. I definitely am not!
WEATHER
The plus side was that for my last day it was beautiful weather out! Skirt and sandals weather has returned! I just wish I had more time to be out and about myself to enjoy it! Instead I spent most of it in the Library. Oh well. These days shall come again.
DRUE
On top of everything else, Drue got a Bad-Ass Tattoo! Why? Cause he's a bad-ass? Basically, yes.
NEIL GAIMAN / STEPHAN COLBERT
Neil Gaiman was on Stephan Colbert talking about Lord of the Rings. This day deserves to be remembered! Plus I just purchased a signed copy of a book Neil wrote about a walking tour through the south side of Chicago. It's illustrated with an Alice in Wonderland theme!
THE BURBS
Might be working in the burbs this weekend through next Wednesday. I need to cash and hopefully the Arb can afford to put me on for a few days. It'll be nice to enjoy the fruits of the West. Go to the mall, get some Steak N' Shake, target some time on Target, and in general enjoy the slowness and private space of the burbs.
SHOPPING
No break is complete without some shopping. My aim is at H&M. Looking at freshing up my look and replacing a few things that are pushing their threads.
SUMMER GRANT PROPOSAL
Last Monday I submitted by Summer Research Grant Proposal. If I am accepted, I will receive $1,500. All I have to do is do what I am already going to do: continue working on readying Rev. Dunker's autobiography for publishing. It'll mean more commuting between the Burbs (Arboretum Work) and the City, but it'll be nice to see more of Katie/Drue/Sarah. Like I said, I'm going to do it anyway, but the $1500 would do well to pay the train rides!
FINALLY: SPRING BREAK!
I am on it! I wanna see friends! I have seeeeeeeeeeriously missed people with all my finals work. Annette, Maria, Joe, Tiff...this means you! Let's plan stuff!
