Wai. So I slept from 2:30 to 6:00 on Friday morning, once again. Last night I ended up sleeping 4:00 to 9:00 (much better than my average for the week)! Reason: great day and a good party at Kye’s. Met a lot of new people but probably had the most fun with Jessica, a student at DU. They had to leave early (party strated at midnight, and their driver needed to do something in the morning).
I'm DONE!
Yesterday was fun, the commencement ceremony was MUCH too early and the sun made every one way to hot down in the middle of Folsom stadium. I ended up sitting with Kristen and Natalie from amath. We had a rocking good time making fun of speeches (some were great, some really sucked) and talking with a journalism major and two arts and science majors behind us. Many grads were there for a nap and to sun tan. The engineers were the most well dressed of the entire bunch of grads. I would much rather have been in swim trunks. A couple beach balls were floating around the crowd ^^.
After that Dad and I ended up in the EC tower for the receptions. Some decent food and some little conversations. We did not stay at either that long. I now have an applied math cap, and dad bought me a CU cap with ralphie on it. It is my new hiking cap. Dad and I ended up looking around town for a while and going to the pearl st mall. We eventually decided on the boulder café and had the Louisiana chilled crawfish, shrimp and get this: oysters. I had never tried them so he gave me the pointers. Those things are a lot of fun! We also had two glasses of wine each, of course. Good conversationalist that dad of mine. I ended up flirting with the waitress, which he though was great because he caught me flirting with one of the employees at the bookstore on the hill, hehe.
divide
Dad wanted to see the continental divide. He lived here for at least 30 years and left, so he’s quite familiar with the mountains and misses them out in CT. I took him up 119 to magnolia and we jumper across to black hawk and down again to my house in golden. We were in the rav and my dad has not lost his mountain driving touch. Apparently people back east don’t understand the idea of engine braking; they simply have never done it and don’t understand why. I presume its like trying to understand the rules of a sports game, you kind of have to see or do it. He also made a point about looking over your right shoulder to see if traffic is coming around the bend behind you. Took me a while to figure out that you don’t do that back east either, and the left shoulder always tells you if someone is coming (instead of staring off the road over your left shoulder). That one was quite humorous. Funny thing is my dad got all the play on words and puns I made. So now you all might understand where I get my humor from ^^! Dad and I ended up going out to Hops for supper (more wine, of course).
mass texts
He went to the hotel early, I guess my having only a few hours of sleep for a week at a time was getting to him. He is after all still on eastern time. I made a mass text to 24 people looking for a party to around 24 people. Main people who replied said they were busy but would party next week! Only people at the bars were my physics buddies, all belligerently drunk and having a good time (like I do!). Kye had a kegger and I got there around midnight… today I drive to the springs. Hopefully my roommates will take care of my fish!
