JPY 16 Million for an Evangelion Car

If you have extra money lying around wasted, this might be a good way to spend them: buy an Evangelion themed car. This sport car designed with original art is the "child" of convenience store chain 7-Eleven and Mitsuoka Motors.

Sold for JPY 16 million yen, this car is available in limited numbers and if multiple applications are submitted, it'd be sold through lottery.

Orochi, the name of the car, uses Mitsuoka Motors vehicle Orochi Gold Premium as base. Evangelion mechanical designer Yamashita Ikuto is responsible for the artistic design.

Applications to purchase the vehicle will be accepted at 7-Eleven stores across the country from November 14 to 30. In the case that multiple applicants appear, the buyer will be chosen by lottery. The day of delivery is expected to be approximately five months after the contract of purchase is completed.

7-Eleven has collaborated multiple times with Evangelion in the past. This past August, the convenience store chain sold a USD 16,000 giant Evangelion figure.
